scs trial being put in Friday...
I am nervous and excited all in one!
I hope that all goes well, as I am sure that it will. I just pray that the surgeon doesn't sneeze or suffer from too much (or little) caffeine! I hope that I have a better outcome that I did with the TEC. Awna |
Hello Awna,
I wish you the best of luck. You will be sore and becareful when moving. You will have a large elastic belt that will hold everything tight until the permanent implant is done. Don't worry about the surgeon. My motto is don't borrow trouble. Don't worry about things that you can't contorl or that may never occur. Your doctor is a professional and will conduct himself/herself as such. I has a SCS put in 3 years ago. Besure you understand the remote. Have them go over it with you before they start to medicate you. Have a phone number to reach the SCS technician after hours. Good luck I hope you find the relief you are looking for. Take care, Sherrie |

Years ago, I had foot surgery and got “instructions” on how use crutches while I was groggy, sick from morphine, and hooked up to an IV. It sure would have made more sense to get the crutches and instructions beforehand and maybe even able to practice while I was still well. Mike |
Hi Awna,
I wish you the best of luck with the trial SCS today and really hope you get the pain relief you need and deserve!! I haven't tried the SCS (my doctor wont do it in anyone under the age of 16) so don't have any advice unfortunately but please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!! Please keep us posted when you can! Alison |
Hi Awna,
Pease keep us posted on your procedure and how you are doing! I hope it all works out for you and you experience the relief I know you are longing for!! :hug:Hope4thebest |
Hi Awna,
http://i31.tinypic.com/2u6g0f8.jpg I pray that the trial SCS works very well for you. A Win for One, is a WIN for ALL. Please let us know how you do on the procedure, and you can expect to have excellent support. I am Dew, nice to meet you:) Looking forward to hearing from you:hug: |
thanks for the well wishes and support!
Everything went smooth. Of course my back is pretty sore right nowfrom everything. Learning how to adjust the settings is just that...learning! I shock the heck out of myself at times. I can be sitting in one spot for a good hour and move my left arm to twirl my hair or something and WOW! The jolt I get down my leg is amazing! The foot/ankle/leg pain is not gone completely but I would say it has gone from an 9/10 before the trial SCS to a 6-7/10 just within a day so far. Today I have been able to put my leg under the blankets. I haven't done that in a year at least! I can only imagine how things can improve with the perm. implant. Any other advice would be wonderful from your experienced SCS'ers. Thanks for all of the support and words of wisdom. Ya'll are the best. Have a great weekend. A |
I'm SO glad to hear that everything went well for you Ams and that you are getting some relief already - that is great!!!!
I really hope that the temp stimulator continues to help you and that you get even more relief from the permenant should you wish to try it!! Thinking about you and please keep us posted as to how the rest of the trial goes!! Alison |
