I am wondering for those of you that have the sensitive skin, what can you wear or sleep on with out irritation? I have a great pair of old flannel PJ bottoms that I wear around the house and I have a soft down blanket that I use at night. What's your preference?

Warm, Loving, ladies skin against my back....ahhh! Besides that, Like you Cindi, (of course you know that couldn't possibly right, so I must be teasin') I REALLY like this stuff that a company called Patagonia (Patagonia.com) makes called "Capilene". It comes in different "weights", silk weight is great to sleep in, no matter what weight, it ALL won't hold any moisture, if you get a sweat, it wicks it right away, so it's great to layer with. (Put Cotton over top of it). if you need it warmer... It's a great under layer for going outside, too! Not cheap stuff, but, it'll last you 10 years, easy! I've been wearing this stuff for thirty years... (although I've changed, and washed it occasional). Seriously, of all the clothes and things I have for 26 years of RSD, this is the best thing I've EVER discovered! You can get everything from Tops, Bottoms, socks, like that.... www.patagonia.com I just got my requested catalogue in the mail today! So, I'm happy, I used to buy myself something every year, maybe more, but well, I'm gonna start again! Here;s the deal on how it works: It's completely non absorbant. It Wicks ALL moisture away from your skin, and it fits, like a super comfy second skin. So, no air will get against your skin, you stay dry, and comfy, with NO DRAFTS! I cannot say enough about this product. I've bought less expensive things that were made by other companies, say at Macy's, (Like Jockey, or some other name brand unmentionables for men ![]() Always come back to Capilene! Always! If anything (zipper for the zip necks, a seam, whatever if it breaks, even after ten years, you mail it back with a note, they fix it!). It's simply: The Best! So really, got to www.patagonia.com request a catalogue, and that'll give you a general idea, and you can order online, for a bigger variety. When you go online, someone will pop up to help you. They're the greatest company I've ever shopped with, and their product, is the best!!!! Pete asb Last edited by AintSoBad; 10-07-2009 at 10:40 PM. |

I am just really starting to have this problem. I have RSD (since feb 09) in my hand/arm/shoulder now. I can handle some touch but showers hurt and air hurts(?) I would think that touch would also...that normal? Someone touching my arm just feels like sandpaper.
Right now I am under alot of stress and my hand is so swollen and stuck in a fist. I have to physically open it with my other hand. This has been happening lately but then swelling will go down and I will be able to use it again. ? It is always swollen to a degree. I love soft sweatshirts and i have a really softblanket that is like a velour on one side and a soft sheepskin on the other. I find that I have been pulling my hand up into my sleeves because of the air and cold. Wish Ugg made gloves as comfortable as their boots. I also love my moist heating pad. |

S/Out, Try this Patagonia "Capalene", they make gloves and socks, undergarments (unmentionables) too> Try a pair of their gloves, when I was in "that stage", I did, and they saved me! www.patagonia.com believe it or not, Capilene used to be, and still is kind of expensive, but now, they make it from recycled plastic soda bottles! It's the best stuff for RSD! I wish I could buy some for everyone! And, they even make the gloves w/o fingers, for fisherman and the like... Do, check it out? pete |

I tend to pick up those fluffy, puffy socks. (RSD in foot/ankle/leg)
I am wondering about shoes however. I have been getting by with crocs this summer, even though they really aren't that great. They have been ok. I am looking for something better. Any suggestions would be great. |

Try looking for a "local, independent" shoe store, every town has one! Not "Foot Locker" or, like that.... Then see what they've got. ask around, especially in your pharmacy! They'll know! You can always find a "Medical Supply" to get the "Green Gel soles". I'm sorry I forget the name, but I'm ready to go buy a pair myself. 20-25 dollars. They make your shoes so wonderfully comfy! Oh, anyway, these "local independents" usually sell, Merrill, New Balance, and Timberland. (The "SPECIAL" ones), that you don't find in the mall! Good luck! Don't forget the internet! pete |
