My Dr's secretary mentioned bedbugs to me. I freaked!
I tore the place apart, and, of course washed ALL the bedding.
I also looked on the internet. Saw pictures of all "biting" insects, bedbugs and spiders.
I'm not 100% sure, but, they changed the A/C in my apt. that day. And, I caught a little bug, (I thought it was a spider), and looked similar to something I saw on the internet.
All my plants are in a different room.
this little bug was black, small, like 3/8ths of an inch, and sort of "square" shaped.
That's the one I caught on my leg.

It's about the only bug I've seen.
Except for these "mealy bugs" . I have a Key Lime plant, that I grew from seed. (short story, my father died in FLA, and someone gave me several dozen key limes. I brought a few home, and was able to get one to germinate from the seed. That was in '92. Wifey pleasant as she usually is, threw plant out side, into the snow
It was dead for all practical purposes. But, I took it, put in a basement, then the next spring, cut it back and put it out in the sun. I was going to empty the soil out, and reuse the pot. and I noticed a few little new branches growing off the bottom. The plant always reminds me of my father. But, these mealy bugs apparently can get through a screen window. It's a high maintenance plant! Thorny too. Yep, just like dad.)

My bites are healing, and the hives are too, with no more new ones.

I used that Aveeno Oatmeal bath a few times too. Good stuff.

Anyone can get these nowadays. The link shows where they can hide.

Chiggers can cause bites too, but are really too small to see. Their bites cluster. My son used to get these, when he was young and getting into piles of leaves, dirt in playgrounds etc. Once he had them all over his stomach.

Scabies can be hard to diagnose. Many of the original bites can occur on the hands, back of the knees. But people then get allergic reactions to them all over the body, and these may be hive like and are very itchy. So the hives don't look like scabies, but the scabies may be elsewhere on the body.

I recall a embarrassing story a colleague told me. Her son had an ear infection so she took him to the doctor. After examining him the doctor turned to her and said "By the way, your son also has scabies". She was mortified that she didn't know it, and that he caught it. It could be all over her home by now!

Have you had chicken pox as a kid? If not, it could even be chicken pox!

Sometimes these things are hard to identify.

actually from reading the ingrediants on the aquaphor and the eucerine, the eucerine has water as first ingrediant and others high up on list that can/will just evaporate and give no therapeutic effect. The Aqua on the other hand has only solid ingrediants. No wasted money............if you have to apply it several times more and in greater amts for prob still less efficacy, well that is a waste.
