Default update on Lindsay and flu

Hi all,

Lindsay went to the doc today and they started her on Tamiflu, and a cough suppressant thank goodness. I emailed Dr. Kirkpatrick and he said that the flu and stress can aggravate her symptoms, to give it a few days and see if it runs it course, but he is not terribly worried. So that's it in a nut shell. Hopefully, she will feel better soon. Thank you all for your kind posts and your prayers, I will let you know in a few days if the Tamiflu helps.

Much love to all, My prayers are always with you...

Hi Sandy and lindsey,
Thank you so much for letting us know how Lindsey is. I have a perscription of Tamiflu. Dr. says to take in first 48 hrs.
I'm been sick for 3 months and today is my best day. I didn't go back to the gp dr. he wanted to give me the flu shot while I still had the flu and fever. I didn't think that made sense. I'm still scared of getting the flu shot. I have never had one. I'm 61 and very low immune system.
Are you getting the h1n1 shot Lindsey? My RSD Dr. wants me to have both shots.
Well take care and hope soon you are feeling good again. Your friend, loretta soft hugs to you both

I was with the doctor yesterday and he said that the flu shot should not cause any flu effects. As far as the H1N1, I don't know, she has too ill to even think of getting the shot. But, everyone is different. I guess I will have to see. But, I think you should really consider what could happen if you were to not get the flu shot. What is your job? Are you around people constantly that you could catch the flu? I myself teach First Grade, there have been several cases of H1N1 in my school. Run like the wind if you hear a cough or sneeze, I am constantly spraying my classroom and using soap and hand sanitizer. So if at all possible, if you decide once you are well, not to get the flu shots, you should stay clear of all germs. Everyone is different, Lindsay has so many underlying conditions, one being Asthma, since she was 6 weeks old. She is on several asthma meds. We live in Tampa, we are the top of the list for H1N1 deaths. According to the doctor yesterday, if you already have had the swine flu symptoms you can consider it your immunization.

Flu season isn't even here yet, some people here on the board take the shot, others say that their doctors say no because of the compromised immune system, so talk with your doctor, and you know your body, get well and then make the decision for yourself.

I have to go to work and face the MUSIC of 19 Six year olds! So my love to you, feel better and don't forget to push the fluids. Fill your belly with lots of food before you take the Tamiflu, it really made Lindsay feel very sick to her stomach.

Soft hugs right back to you,
Sandy

Hi Sandy and Lindsey,
Thanks for the upday on Lindsey. I have a very low immune system. It took me 3 months to get rid of the flu. I'm feeling good now. I have an appointment with an internist and want to see a pulmunologist. I trust my Dr. and he feels I should have both shots.
I have too ill to work in several years. But I am up to working a little. We own a business that delivers coffee, condiments to various businesses. We lost quite a few jobs during this economic crisis. So I'm going to start this week on visiting businesses and biding jobs. I can go at my own pace and even send information thru the mail with information and make appointments.
My husband has contact with the public. My daughter is self-employed court reporter-the firm has 25 reporters. So she is in various attorneys conference rooms doing depositions. She and her husband came back from Chicago last December, and moved in with us. We love having them here, but it is not permanent. My son in law is an airline pilot, flying out of Chicago.
So I'm suspectable in a variety of ways. I'm scared of the flu, I took 10 days of high powered antibiotics and didn't get rid of it. Have weakness of lungs and bronchitis for years.
Why is Tampa on top of list? I think Phoenix was hit pretty bad last go around. Lots of people cross the border from Mexico. My son in law flys East Coast & Canada & Mexico. He and my daughter both have strong immune systems,as well as my husband. He is 72.
Thanks for your concern, I appreciate it. Hugs to Lindsey. Do you feel Lindsey got the flu from the shot? Is she still in remission and have the flu?
My thoughts and prayers are with you both, loretta soft hugs
