Book Self relaxation techniques (let me take you on a trip)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Relaxing SRT's
SRT Self Relaxation Techniques.
Breath in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Visualisations.. hmm Ok we need a vacation..
"Relax get comfortable and think of a nice warm lagoon, now sit back take a big breath, slowly breathing in for the count of 4.... then hold for the count of 4.... then out to the count of four.... "You are on a beach white sand and palm trees, (keep your breathing to the count of 4 up) strewn about are bits of driftwood being pushed about by the evening tide, and as you go to move forward to look closer you notice that here you feel no pain.. nothing can hurt you here, and remember here you are always safe and you can come here when ever you want to.
Slowly breathing in for the count of four.... then hold for a count of four.... then out to the count of four..
This beach is huge on both sides and yeat still private somehow, and ohh so peaceful.. there are birds siging and chirping in the forest, and through the trees I see some kind of ancient ruins that look peaceful yeat exciting.. I decide to wait another day for that adventure.
In two three four, out two three four, hold two three four.. Everything is so beautiful I can smell the ocean and hear the gulls flying overhead, I climb into one of the bright cheerful blue hammocs tethered between what looks like two coconut trees.. ohh thats nice.. you gotta try this too... ohh ya..
to be continued..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

SRT's were an important part of my early RSD adaption process.. I supose they helped me adjust/adapt, and they helped me then too with biofeedback processes.
I spent almost 4 months 5 days a week in a pain clinic getting the same classes over and over again.. (it was out of town and I had to stay for the blocks)
The SRT above is actualy a combination of 2 varietys, "visual SRT's" and "breathing SRT's"

hmm.. I also used the visualisation of a fire or bonfire (slowly building it bigger in my mind) to warm up my hands and legs.. it seems to work some of the time.. usualy a warm glow, it realy depends how relaxed I am and stress, anxiety, pain.. it realy helps all of that.. puts me in a much better place you know.. more centered in myself, calm, less pain, better able to deal with everything.

Anyway I posted about this before much more thourouly but it was along time ago, I am also thinking this post will also pop my origional SRT posts up at the bottom of this page perhaps. mabie.

be well,
Sandra.

Thanks for posting this Sandra, it's very positive. I could just imagine being there on the beach with you as I read it. I'll give it a try later on.
