Frown Beginning of a flare :(

I am beginning a flare and I just need some prayer and support. I have my soft blankie, my feather pillow and my sweet black Lab who knows when I don't feel good. She checks on me when I am resting and will lay on the couch or bed as long as I do. Please say a prayer for me today..... I posted this video on Face Book this morning, so my friends can see how I feel.

Cindi,

I am so sorry you are starting a flare, try to get into a warm pool, or even your bath tub, and move you limbs. I know that Dr. K. has always said warm pools, or tubs is better than any pt/ot. Hope you feel better.
My prayers are with you.

Sandy

Sorry Cindi -

I was horribly sick the beginnig of the week, so I can appreciate how you feel. Like an idiot I raked leaves, because I've been feeling so good that I thought I might be getting a little bit better and I couldn't stand the mess outside.

Guess what? I'm not gettting bettter. I can't use my arms without causing hideous, excrutiating head pain that makes me vomit 12 hours later. I was in bed for 2 days. What a wake call that was.

I learned my lesson for a good long while.

Sandy S's advice is right on, hot showers and baths feel wonderful. Try to keep moving a little bit if you can, some short walks during the day to get some fresh air (I can't because the worst of my pain is in my head). And relaxing your body works wonders also. Pay attention to your breathing, try to breathe as slowly and gently as possible...and just rest.

XOXOX Sandy

Thanks, Ladies

I went to a football game with my son, brother and my hubby and then went barhopping. I hardly had a sip of alcohol, but the weirdest thing happened to me. There was this awesome band, but the bass was so deep and thumping, that I could feel the charge of pain and fire got through my affected leg and arm every time they would play. I started crying and my hubby knew exactly what it was and we left. He can sense my pain and see my facial expression and know. He's actually getting it!

I really think that the stress of the weekend just really got to me,plus it's been raining for 3 days. I'm getting my epsom salt bath ready now.

Thanks again,
Cindi

I haven't slept all night..a good sign of a super flare..YUCK! I have so many things going on in the next two weeks.

My father passed away a year and a half and donated his body to science. We just got his ashes back and we are going to take them to be buried in the family cemetery in KY. I know that this is triggering this flare. I haven't ever been to KY without my dad. I am seeing family members whom I haven't seen in 22 years....

I never throw a pity party for myself, but please pray that this flare doesn't go on through my visit. My kids are going to help me drive and my step-mom will be there to take care of me if it's bad. My baby sister and brother are going too, so I'm not worried about when I get there...just the 5 hour drive. Thank you all for your support.

Soft gentle hugs,
Cindi

Hi Cindi,

Do you have a day or 2 to CHILL before you leave on your long trip? Sounds like you could use some peace and quiet and rest...There is a wonderful book called the "Mindfulness Solution to Pain" by Jackie Gardner-Nix. It has helped me learn how to relax much better than I was able to before. My therapist advised me to order it and we talked a lot about meditation while I was seeing her (WC only allowed me 10 sessions with a shrink, which have expired).

I also take a muscle relaxer - Skelaxin, and a sleeping aid before I go to bed to ensure that I sleep. They usually work well, (they knock me right out!)even though I still wake often from pain (when I move around). I will deal later in life with any addiction issues, right now I am concerned about keeping my flares and pain levels to a minimum and sleeping and relaxation are CRITICAL. I so don't want to get any sicker than I already am.

Please try to take it easy. XOXOX Sandy
