Default Spreading from ankle to hip

Has anyone have this little demon jump around like this. I have had RSD for about a year and a half starting in my right ankle and progressing through my whole foot. Now I am feeling this intense burning in my right hip socket. My right knee and thigh seem to be fine. Thanx Krank

Hi Krank,
I'm so sorry you are having this intense spread and burning. I have full body RSD plus internal. Everyone is different in some ways, but a lot of us do have spread. Keep moving. When I first got RSD I froze up my left shoulder-took a lot of pt and massage therapy, remission over a year then out of the blue right shoulder frozen-more therapy and massage therapy- another nice remission of over a year. Then hand froze up while water skiing. more therapy and massage treatment. never was diagnosed with rsd. hand frozen flat- doc says RA, wrong- went to a well know doc in another state-sports injury ortho diagnosed me in 1 minute. neuclear med tests confirmed. got a good neuro and ortho hand back home and got into pt. Because of delay got half of hand motion back, but grateful to have some movement. That's when it started to move to other hand and then feet etc. head to toe. But I keep moving, and have full use of body, except left hand is partially frozen.
Have you thought of having a hip bone scan to see what shape your hip is in. We get bone loss with RSD. Hope you have a good nero with rsd experience.
Swimming 86 degree temp brought back my curling toes to normal. Swimming is one of the best exercises-need temp to be no cooler than 86.
Diet is very important. If you are interested in what foods are good for us, give me a pm and I'll list my Dr.'s thoughts. Take care, I'm so sorry for your spread. loretta

Dear Krank - Sorry for your pain. Always make sure you rule everything else out before you assume that your pain is related to RSD. Your pain could be arthritis of the hip or something else entirely. Have you see your doc about this yet?

Take care and the best of luck to you XOXOX Sandy

I agree with Sandy, have your doctor take a look at it asap. That's the most important thing for you right now.

Keep us posted.

I have had a similar experience... My started in my right hip and then went so the knee and then to the calf and finally spread everywhere on the right leg (including toes). After I thought it couldnt get any worse it spread to the left leg. There is always a possiblity that the hip pain could be unrelated but it is always better to be safe than sorry. I would keep a detailed journal of the pain and make an appointment to see your doctor to discuss this new symptom.

Krank,
Yep, this old thang called rsd, does spread around.
Nothing strange about it, until you start to try to figure it out.

Your knee moves more than Hip.
I'd think a stationary bicycle would do you well!
(It did for me, until Wifey took it)... Hah!

Gotto keep moving any joint that starts to feel painful, and move them ALL somewhat,
BEFORE they start to feel any pain!

Isn't this the standard complaint here?
Ooops, my this joint hurts, now it's going to this one. Because you're'n has skipped your knee, what do you think will happen, if you fail to keep motion going?
(Use Omega 3 fish oils too!) Yes, good guess, Your entire Leg will go immobile!

So, KEEP THE ENTIRE LEG MOVING, along with the other, and your arms, etc.!

USE IT OR LOSE IT!

I just don't know how many times I can say that!
It cost my insurance company so many hundreds of thousands, back when RSD was Unknown, to teach me that, (amongst other things), that, it should be just a "Known" fact! at this point!

I hope this works well for you, Krank!

Pick up the ball, and run with it!

All my best wishes and prayers!

Pete

Hi Krank
I had authoscopic surgery on the r-hip a year and a half ago , then i cut my heal on the same side and rsd surfaced there, Then I had a THR on the same hip,,& months ago and im still on crutches,,,the rsd has spread to the joint behind the cup. I had a bone scan done and it revealed activity[hotspot] behind the cup. either the cup is loose, or its rsd..my money is on the obvious,,,My hope is in God to heal me,,good luck to you,,,pm me for specifics if you like,,,,,,,,,,,bobber

Hi everyone Happy Belated Thanksgiving. I am going to see my doctor about this new spread. I am so fortunate to find people like all of you who take the time to respond. Thank you I know I read some where that RSD will spread like from ankle to foot or ankle to calf to knee. From what Im reading I believe I have a jumper on my hands. With that said I going to have to pick up the PT a little higher and see what happens. I am fortunate that I am able to do PT in an endless pool that can be heated to 90 degrees. I can do many different exercises including swimming against the current. I like it because it gives a good work out that is low impact in WARM water. I was only going two days a week but now I'm going to increase to three times a week. To fight this demon off the best I know how. I have been taking the fish oil and I think it is helping. we are thinking about increasing our dose Does anyone happen to know what a good dosage is for fish oil? My next concern is that my toes are beginning to curl in and I dont know what to do about that. But anyway I would like to thank everyone who contributed. you people are awesome Thanx krank

I understand completely what you are experiencing. I was diagnosed with it in my left foot/ankle Sept 09 and it has spread to my hip. It feels as if there is a white hot poker in my hip and there are days that I can't even sit. Good luck with you appt. Keep us posted

Hoping for a pain free day for all
