Default warm and cold therapy

Hi All,
Now, i have carpel tunnel besides RSD in hands, feet, legs. My PT recommended one minute warm water and one minute cold water for a total of 10 minutes for my wrists and elbows. So I will submerge my hands/elbows to the water. Is this warm/hot and then cold okay for RSD? I read something about this in the past but can't remember the details.
Please refresh my memory and thanks,
Numb

There was a current thread on this a few weeks ago that I think was across the board on what people experienced in terms of relief. Most of the clinical literature opposes the use of ice with RSD/CRPS for a number of reasons. Many PT's are unaware that it is contraindicated for us. Mine did not know until I told him after months of benign use that seemed to bring temporary relief from the post-op pain-induced therapy of a shoulder reconstruction.
