Default Hi,

My Dr. called me yesterday to check on me and he said I did have a concussion. I still have the dizziness and my stomach upset comes and goes.

I'm going out to my kids' house today to spend Christmas with them. Travis will do most of the cooking so I won't have to worry about that. When I turn my head a certain way or bend over I get dizzy. Hopefully it will start getting better here soon. I see my Dr. Monday for him to check my neck and arm out.

Thanks for the prayers and good thoughts everyone. I do hope all of you have a Happy Happy Holiday season. MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Ada

Dear Ada,

Thanks for letting us know how you are doing. I'm thinking of you and hope you don't have any long term repercussions from this accident.

Please take it easy and try to relax. Merry Christmas.

*hugs* Ada. I'm soooo glad you're alright and still here with us. Take it as easy as you can. I hope there's no lasting damage from the accident. I was T-boned years ago and I spent a week in hospital with a collapsed lung and my left shoulder was so messed up I couldn't move my arm at all for two months. Let's hope you heal fully quickly with no lingering effects.

Hugs,

Karen

I'm so sorry to hear about your accident Ada! I hope you feel better soon and that your right side doesn't become a full flare. Take care of yourself and get some rest. Merry Christmas, BTW. Sorry it has been a bad month for you; I will be praying for you.

Default Hi,

I hope all of you had a very good Christmas day.

I had a good day with the family. The kids got me a laptop and Liz Taylor cologne and a neck massager. My son-in-law listens to what everyone tells him they want and they usually get it. Very smart.

I had a horrible headache though and laid down 2 or 3 times to rest. I was tired due to Travis getting us up at 6. We watched It's a Wonderful Life and A Christmas story. We watch those every year. Today, I feel like I have a hangover. Hopefully no headache today but I am still dealing with the dizzy spells.

I got my arm and neck calmed down. I started working on them right away with lidocaine patches, heating pads and Methadone and laid around Thursday. That helped a lot.

I hope all of you had a good day yesterday. Painfree and fun.

Ada

Frown I had exact situation!!!

I was in a car accident in 2007, where I was hit head on and I banged the left side of my head and shattered the glass. I got Brachial Plexopathy and Lumbar RSD as a result. Got my car repaired (took a month) and went to physical therapy for months, got injections for disc herniations. Then.... POW!!! Some other guy hits me going through a red light and totals my car!! 2 MVA's within a year. More cervical and lumbar pain, chronic knee pain, and bursitus and tendinopathy in left shoulder. As if the RSD in 4 limbs from the first accident wasn't enough! I truly have learned that THINGS CAN ALWAYS GET WORSE, EVEN IF THINGS ARE ALREADY BAD!!

I'm so sorry for your misfortune, Ada. It is such a long road to recover from something that takes a split-second to happen. Pain wise and financially. It's been almost 3 years since my first accident (and 2 years from second accident) and I have not seen 1 dime and don't see a settlement date in sight. We are even so financially devasted that I can no longer afford the meds and physical therapy I need ( I can no longer work) and we're on the brink of bankruptcy. It is truly cruel and abusive, and the insurance companies don't give a crap!!!

I hope you get the care you need and deserve, and do not have to suffer with anymore misfortunes

Extra Gentle Hugs, Vanna

Hi Vanna,

Your sad tale is so like mine. As if being physically ruined isn't enough, we're being driven into poverty by an accident I had no part in causing. We've lost my income and gained a mountain of new expenses. It's been three years and I haven't seen a dime either. My lawyer says it will take years more to get a settlement - if I last that long. lol The insurance companies are just evil.

Cheers

Ada,
I'm sorry for my last post, there's an example of what forgetting my brain med (aricept) for a couple days does. I can't stay on track, and just start rambling.

Did you have a CT scan, or MRI? Your doctor says you have a concussion, which you describe some symptoms of, so I was wondering if anything turned up on a scan?

Just to repeat, I've had rsd and tos since 83, and acquired my brain injury (tbi) in 98, which also herniated some discs due to the way I was hit. I've developed all sorts of sleep problems as well. Along with a "wealth" of little odd things....

Here is the website for the Brain Injury Association of America. It will have links to state resources as well...
I hope that it starts to give you an idea, on how to educate yourself about this.

http://www.biausa.org/

As with all injuries of such a nature, some days will be better than others.

I hope you heal up quickly and have no lasting problems / anomalies.

love and prayers,

Pete
