Deeply touched....
Oh My.
When i was able to get on here and i saw all these replies, my eyes teared up. I've never seen such comradere in all my life. I'm speechless. I can only hope to be as helpful to others someday as you've been to me. Consider each and every one of you hugged  Everything that was said in each and every one of these posts pretty much rounds out the entire medical community. I only wish it were that logical in the 'real' medical setting. I've written down all the good pointers from every one of you and by day 4 of this trial I will have my head together. It's obvious that when i posted that thread, i was fresh out of the frying pan, so you were hearing me in the raw...confused, ******, hurting, and overwhelmed. But hey, what does that say? :) look where i came running to while in that frame of mind! YOU GUYS !! And i spose i did leave out some of the things, which really painted the picture of me being such a 'victim'... the PM doc DID ask what i had at home for my breakthru pain. I told him i take Lortab for that. So, that's when he said, ok, then ditch the patches during this trial or you won't be able to know if your pain is being relieved and it will have been a waste of time on all our parts. Which actually is completely logical and even without being told that, i would have had the common sense to know better than to come home and numb myself up with my pain meds to not feel ANY pain. It's just the way it all went down....left me outta sorts you know? There's just so much to think thru in such a short amt of time, but the journal thing is totally smart. And for the months leading up to this, it's all i've been thinking and talking about, so it's not like i should act like it's all so strange to me. Like i said, my emotional state was in the raw. Now i actually feel a bit foolish, ...but look at the way you all were THERE for me when i needed it most!! Plus, my husband was doing everything possible as well. He bought me one of those 'reacher/grabber' things. :) best ten bucks we ever spent ! Things are much better now and this weekend, we will go walking and things that i couldn't really do B4 (peripheral neuropathy in both legs for those who don't know) and, like you said....to just do lots more little things around the house. Again, thank you all....i saw a lot of heart and soul in those posts..... God Bless Rae  |

Plz. don't feel foolish..we've all been there at one time or another for that and other reasons... we all understand where you were coming from! As you saw..you are not going at this alone... remember small steps and one day at a time..If you look at the big, big picture it can be very over whelming and toss you off your feet.....if you think of it that way you will make the best choices at that time AND cross the bridges you need to when you get to them..you'll do what is right for you..have faith in your gut feelings..... Have a nice, rejuventating day driving around your trial unit....Again...let me know before you go for the unit to be removed... |
Guess what Rae??
I have one of those "reacher, grabber" things, too! LOL!! My mom bought it for me, and when I first saw it, I was so insulted and said, "What? Do I look like an old lady?" Within a short period of time, I couldn't thank her enough for it :o
Glad to hear things are smoothing out for you. We all have our days in the lion's den; just some of us more than others. Damn neuropathy!! :winky:  Vanna |
101 uses for reacher/grabbers ! :)
I know what you mean! I was still too upset about the whole ball of wax that i didn't realize at the time my son and hubby gave me the grabber......but once i used i for the first time, i went haywire and we all had a hayday joking about all the things that it can actually be used for! :ROTFLMAO:
Use your imagination,...... It can get pretty absurd!! :D |
You are not a big baby, you just were treated like a child by a professional idiot!! I am done with pain management. They obviously are not sympathetic and have never experienced any pain or they wouldn't wouldn't treat people this way. My MD has MS and he has done more for me than any other doctor or neurologist could. My RSD is spreading and they sit there and look at me like I am stupid....I so know how you feel...I just take the days as they come and pray for a low pain day every day. I have learned to "live" with RSD and decided that God has a bigger plans for me.. I haven't figured them out, but I refuse to let professionals talk to me or treat me with disrespect. Taking back myself is what I have decided to do...if I have to go to another doctor I have over 300 pages of doctor bills and $1500 in just 6 months of medication and no insurance. SOOOOO, they will not push me around and you are a brave, brave person to do what you have done...if that stupid doctor does this to you again...guide him to this forum....we'll let him know what it's about...

Cindi1965.... You go girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I throughly enjoyed reading your reply and I must admit... you have very valid points and possibly we will all find that we are there with you...Once our money and options are exhausted along with our minds and bodies... I especially applaud you for the part about leading the Docs our way..what an education that would be for them... priceless!!! You rock!! Have a great night and sleep well!!!!! KS:winky: |
AMEN to THAT !!!
You said it girl! :Good-Post:
Cindi, KS - AMEN sisters!! Couldn't have said it better myself! :You-Rock: |
And BASSMAN MIKE !!
As FATE would have it, the doc's office screwed up my follow-up appt to get the leads taken out and i ended up getting 2 extra days for the trial !!!
So, when you said: I wonder if you can call your doctor’s office and ask about an extension of the trial. They only want to keep them in for a couple of days because of the risk of infection. Also, the longer you keep it in, the greater the risk if yanking the leads. But, if you have all sorts of weird feelings from the Fentanyl withdrawal, pain from the surgical trauma, and so on, how in the devil are you going to decide that the trial is really working? Maybe you could see if one or two more days would be possible. The trial removal is not a big-deal procedure. Mine was done by a PA as an office visit and took about 15 minutes.... you spoke that RIGHT into existence !! What a HOOT ! God is definitely in control !! AMEN BROTHER !!! :highfive: You all have me so fired up! I feel a reVIVAL comin on!!! :partytime2: Plus, by day 5, I said to HECK with it and put my Fent patch back on and am feelin great! shhhh don't tell the doc :icon_eek: because then he'd be like --> :ranting: and then I'D BE LIKE ---> :deadhorsebeat: THEN the Medtronic Rep would be like --->:Scratch-Head: and of course the PM's assistant would be like :yikes: So Good God, just let Rae have her damn patch. Thank you all and good night ..... :Zzzz: |
