Default waiting for the next shoe to drop.

December was such a bad month for me. Two car accidents, a family matter I had to deal with, a small claims case that didn't go right, the list goes on and on.

I have to start PT as soon as I get another vehicle. Hopefully that will be soon. My Dr. wants me back into PT for my neck and thoracic spine which I hurt in the second accident.

I was talking to him Friday evening and he said that I have to keep it in my mind that 2010 will be a better year. Luckily, he will be there to keep telling me that.

My neighbor has had a bad year also. I told her that I was waiting for the next shoe to drop. Her answer was, well a centepede has 100 legs so we only have 99 more to go.

My life seems simple though compared to others. The earthquake, Kate going through her heartbreak, my friend losing everything in her home due to broken pipes, our bank teller missing. They have been searching the river here for her for 5 days.

It all bothers me. It makes me wonder how 2010 is going to be. I am trying to relax and not worry so much but when I got the email from my friend that her home flooded, it was another shoe to me.

It's great to have such a great group on here that we can all share what we are going through. We need to always pray for each other that things will get better for everyone going through what they are going through.

I do hope that 2010 will be the best year ever for a lot of you.

dreambeliever128, I've thought back and I've not seen so many people from many walks of life having a very bad time these past 3-4 years. I'm 52 years old and never seen anything like it, really. It's not just the economy either. I've been praying for a better era for all.

Dear dreambeliver128 and Jimking...

Funny..I was never a fan of when one would say..there is always some one out there is worse shape that I am .. to me that means someone hurts more that I and I don't like thinking that way!! A friend of mine said yesterday that if she had one wish it would be to make my RSD better....My answer after thanking her, of course...was..my wish would be to keep her healthly as never to feel the dismay of an illness... and thanks for wanting me to feel better but my wish is to never loose my support system cuz without them .. I am nothing!!!

Stay hopeful... but one thing for certain is we have eachother..

My husband and I has been in a downward spiral for approximately 4 years it seems - like JimKing said. Its been one thing after another, culminating with my RSD. There have been a number a crushing losses and set backs for us, both financial and personal, that we never would have imagined we would face together when we were younger. Somehow we survived together, and in a few days we will (quietly) celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.

We still have our kids, our house, jobs, and a Civic instead of a Lexus. And each other. And my husband will cite the 5th member of our family - the RSD - that has wreaked its havoc on us for the last few years.

We hope and pray that the year 2010 is when things will finally begin to improve for us and for others like us.

I'm with everyone else here. I think 2009 was the end of a very bad few years. I know, deep in my bones, that this year will be the beginning of a new, better time. Don't know how I know, but I do. It will really start getting better by spring. I'm getting the pain pump on Monday, the know the next 5-6 wks will be hard, painful, and frustrating. But after that I see things getting better. I pretty sure my pcp dr. is going to hire me on for front desk, so financially, it will get better. I'm only allowed to earn a little as I'm on SSD, and I know I will never be well enough to work full time again. That and the fact that I am 60 years old. Not that that is old, but on paper it looks it. lol
daughter and her DH moved in with us in Dec with their 2 cats. Our house is only 1500 sq feet. not big at all. Come spring I know they will be moving into a place of their own..and I'll get my house back in order. so...everyone, just hang in there for a few more months. It is looking better.

Hugs
Mary

This sure is a timely thread LOL! My family and I were having some serious converstations about this topic all this week. We all agreed that it just wasnt 2009 so much as it has been the last decade.

A couple of my sons were saying the 90's were like a dream, everything just went great the entire decade. All of us are in agreement when it comes down to deciding this last decade was the pits, and we know it covered the nation, and even the world in bad times.

It is kinda hard for me to get excited about 2010, but I am optimistic, and will keep looking for that good coming year.

What I do know is that my butt still has bruises from all the shoe drops the last few years, and I have to really shake this feeling >>>
