Loretta, I have thanked you before and I continue to do so. You are so kind and have a gift to know just what to say to make me feel better or see things differently. Bless you! momof4

Dearest Kim, Allen, KS, & Momof4,
Thank you all so much for your kind words of encouragement and warmth!
I, like yourselves, am so grateful to have this forum to give encouragement and have in turn received much love and strength.
We all have our down days, but benefit so much for others' examples. Besides my many friends here, like you folks, was the example of my Mom. She was misdiagnosed by a negligent Dr. and died of cancer at 46. I was 25 and had the privilege of caring for her the last few months. Her faith, strength, positive personality was so courageous. She wasn't bitter, but was a strong woman and sued the Dr. We knew she wouldn't be alive so she did a video depositition that would be shown at trial. The Dr. had been sued before and lost his malpractice insurance. Our lawsuit was 'won' with 100% compensation of expenses. She had 3 operations, flew from Oregon to MD Anderson Hospital in Texas, Had surgery there, plus trip to Mexico, plus large settlement for loss of life. After her trial, there was another woman who lost her life because of his guy. He hid and moved assets like the snake he was.
This was back in 73. I grew from her death and the 2 plus years of counseling I went thru. I'm so grateful for the months I got to spend with her-we were so close. My Dad never remarried and we got close. He only lived 7 years longer and I cared for him this last two years. We built houses side by side. I cooked all meals as he was diabetic. We had just moved in our new home, and he said he wouldn't be over next day-business to take care of.
The following day I 'knew' something was wrong.I was so scared, I drove over, and he had died right after we talked that last time. I'm so grateful we got so close and he met our daughter who was only a year, he came to hospital for her birth. Today is the day I found him dead 29 years ago.
Michael J Fox, who has Parkinsons Disease, wrote a book called 'Always Looking Up' has been very encouraging of accepting what life has handed him and reaching out to others to help them. I believe it's true that there is more happiness in giving than receiving.
THANK YOU for all your support, your friend, loretta with soft hugs

When I started on this board last winter Loretta would PM me often. And it helped so much. I was a "newbie." And needed some handholding.

I will always be grateful for the exra support and comfort I received.

Thanks so much Loretta. XOXOX Sandy
