THANK YOU everyone for your replies... it is something that nobody mentions to us and it rarely is talked about. Helps to know I am not alone... :) I love hearing about how everyone gets themselves ready. I try to read a book, and listen to some wordless mind music to calm my brain down from the day, but the past week have been horrible and I cant sleep-- So i just give up and end up replying to everyones posts!!!!:) Hope all slept well, and thanks again. I truly appreciate it and any others who recommend any medicines I can bring up to my doc this week would be awesome. Thanks.

The doc who first prescribed the tizanidine said that most RSD patients have tremors and this can prevent sleep. Sure enough if I lie down and try to feel tremors I do have them. They are very fine with an extremely low amplitude and extremely high frequency and usually in the RSD affected areas. The tizanidine is like throwing a wet blanket on a fire so I might fall asleep. I don't think I can fall asleep as long as the tremor is going.

Hannah
If you go to sleep at 6pm and wake up at 3am ,,that is normal,,your body has gotton its 9 hrs sleep,,force yourself for a couple of days until your body gets used to it , stay up until 9 pm ,,then you should sleep until 6am,,I used to work swing shift and I had to switch my sleep patterns around,,,,and No mid day naps,,,,,,good luck to you,,i like useing melontonin as a sleep aid as well

I have tried that!!! But i cant fall asleep later, you would think logically that would work right???

So, i got a memory foam mattress topper for my mattress... It is really comfortable, and my doc gave me some celebrex to take at dinner time to calm my muscles and body down. I slept a litter better last night, i dont know if it was the fact that I was going all day and wore myself out or what??

Does anyone else take remeron for sleep? I take it, I fall asleep in like 30 seconds, but getting 'sleep' is the problem. does that make sense? waking up feeling rested.. not waking up feeling like someone punched you in the eyes??

I am hoping this memory foam will make a difference on my body!! It is really comfortable to lay on!!!

I tried ambeim but didn't like my wife telling me all the things I did the night before but didn't remember. Sleep is definitely an issue for me too between an arthritic shoulder, brachial plexus damage and CRPS and I've found that 1/2 mg of lorazepam at bedtime will take me to 1 am or so (better than nothing!). I'll take all the sleep I can get!
