Hi Court, I'm sorry you are in a flare right now. Flares increase our pain, anxiety, emotional sensitivity. Is there a weather change going on? Sometimes, its stress -family, financial, work or lack of.RSD effects part of the brain called the Limbic System. The Limbic System controls our emotions, . Are you sleeping? That is an important component in keeping our emotions level, and pain down. Anti-anxiety meds helps us with our emotional balance. They also help us take less pain meds. It would be good to have a Flare 'plan' I like light massage, epsom salt bath, music, candles, meditation, reading, therapy, water therapy, I'm sure others have things in their flare plan that help them.
Please let us know how you are doing. We care. Your friend, loretta with soft hugs

Hi Court, I'm sure you are sick of pain. I forgot to look and see where you live. I live in Scottsdale, AZ
and we have had some rain come thru, but not too cold. I am grateful we live here. We moved from Oregon 12 years ago. Can't imagine living there now.
Our son in law lives here, but flys out of Chicago east, north east. There have been lots of cancellations.
We have one daughter,30. I was thinking, there are hand and feet warmers snow skiers use inside their gloves. I loved them. Also there is a wax warmer you can pain the wax on while warm, and put your hand, feet in plastic baggies until they cool off It makes your hands and feet feel good.
Take care, your friend, loretta hugs

I agree with loretta. My flares increase my anxiety, depression, and emotions. I try to just sit with them and accept that hopefully when the flare lessens that those issues will be better too. Going back to the psych has helped my mental state but of course it is still a battle. Do you have people in real time to support you as well? For me finding things that comfort me in my flares are helpful too. Feel better

Emotions..there is a reason why this is such a LONG word!!!!! So much involved there and we as the patients are learning more all of the time..The empty, hopeless feeling cuppled with thenasty pain is just about all one should and can handle!!

Most importantly..keep YOUR FAITH....the love in your heart (as RSD can't dig that deep)... know that the promise of tomorrow is no longer..live your day is it is your last and try to be strong..however..it is okay to cry!!!...

keep smilin that was lovely about keeping it in your heart. Thank you. I agree nothing wrong with crying. My mom says sometimes you just need a good cry to feel emotionally better

Yea..I believe our hearts are sacred territory..We manage that area ..no one gets in that we don't want and RSD is good but it ain't getting in...I dip into my heart often.. it's like a dish of M&M's..just can't get enough of the good feeling that comes out of there... With RSD we need a reffuge to go and camp out..and love in there is free for taking and sweet to re-fill..

I love Mom's!!!! They know stuff, least thats what I tell me kids!!!

Hugz, daniella
