Bobber, I took a walk yesterday. I take one everyday that it's nice. I got a new pair of Sketcher Shapeups so I am trying to break them in. My right foot is the worst and I am having trouble with it with those shoes. I am hoping I can get them broke in.

I see my Dr. today. I am thinking the Nexium is making me nauseated also. I will make a list of what to talk to him about too. I am neauseated this morning with a headache.

Thanks for the help.
Ada

I feel bad as I got silly with my last post..my attempt you make you giggle but please, know I did not mean to take away from the seriousness of this subject as I understand it is....My apologies...I trully hope you feel much better really soon... Hi Ada,
I hear ya with the constipation. It is something I am constantly fighting. My neurologist told me to get Laci LeBleu Dieter's Tea. It comes in tea bags and you can get it at a health food store. Only let it steep for 2-3 minutes and NO MORE or you will never stop going! Another good one is Kmart or Walmart I can't remember which one sells liquid Cod Liver Oil but it is orange. It is tough at first but a teaspoon every other day really helps me out and once you get used to the taste it doesn't bother you. It kinda tastes like orange fish (strange huh). It works great. I hope this helps.
Take care,
kathy d

Hi Kathy,

I will check on the tea. I was talking to my Dr. and we were laughing about the cod liver oil. I grew up with that one as a cure for everything. They make it in orange flavor now. At least that's a step up on the taste.

It is so hard to find things that do help. They stop working after awhile.

Thanks again,
Ada

Ada,

I go to a family owned health food store. They are all very knowledgeable people. They even have me on an index card with the medications that are prescribed to me, and then they have a list of the supplements that I take. I too take the orange fish, it is horrible, but it does work as a maintenance laxative. But if you need something quick, the tea always is a sure hit. I am going through a bit of that myself right now, they recently changed my medication, so I use the hemp hearts, orange fish and a tea just until my body gets adjusted, then I will definately drop the fish oil. Today's dinner incuded hemphearts and flaxseed with olive oil....lets just say my husband and son were MIA this evening, good thing we have two bathrooms. I got the remote and watched something that I wanted to watch. Hope your tummy feels better and good luck at your doctor's appointment.

Jeanie

PS. I am not that cruel, they know I cook with herbs, I guess it was a bit too much for them too handle.

Hello, I am a new member with FMS (fibromyalgia) and just started taking hemp hearts. I did a search through the entire forum for hemp and your post was the only one that came up! I see that you use hemp seed daily. Can you give me any more info on why you take it, how you feel taking it, if it interacts with anything else that you may take...whatever else you want to add! A friend of mine suggested i start to take it, i researched it, and it seems harmless. I would just like to know someone else that has taken it and how they feel on it and HOW they take it!! Today i took it with applesauce...any other suggestions??? Thanks for your time!

constipation-w/opiates fiber not always the answer

Fiber in general is not recommended for people using opiates for pain control, for example.

My gastroenterologist explained this to me after I had problems also. I told him I upped my fiber on top of an already fiber-rich diet. He said when you're on opiates, it slows down all that fiber and it sits there making the whole "traffic-jam" worse. Fluids, hydration, stool softener +/or laxatives what what he suggested.
