It has taken me this long to finally be willing to refile for va disability. I just sent off my medical records to them. Now its a waiting game. Wish me luck and keep smiling everone!

It is a relief to get it done. Now I get to wait and have my exams for crps, and then find out ifi am going to get more than 20% va disability. It sucks that it took me this long to just get a diagnosis to refile but I'm in for it lol.

what is the va disability? is that in addition to ssd? it does suck when the diagnosis takes so long...very frustrating. i was diagnosed quickly in 1991, but in 2009 when i hurt my hand and got it they were clueless for a year!

VA is Veterans Affairs. They are supposed to help veterans get benefits and medical care. Its kind of like ssd for veterans. The only thing is they won't do a darn thing to help you without a fight because of costs. In that they differ from ssd. Every legal job you hold in the USA you pay into SS. With the VA its the fact we served in the military that gets us in. I filed originally when I got out of the military and got 20% for patello femoral syndrome. Now I am filing for CRPS. Would like to get atleast 60% through the va then I am also thinking of filing for ssd. It all depends on what happens but this time I'm not that naive young kid I was back then. If I need to I am going to get a lawyer and appeal the tar out of them. Im not fighting for me but for my babies. Its now a matter of necessity that I fight and get the disability rating I need to care for them.

It usually takes between 2wks to a full year, in my experience. They have to look at your records then look stuff up then discuss it snd put their writing in the system.

We have the same problem in the SPVA which is similar to the VA wait times are from 3months to 2 years waiting on your case getting heard. Infact i think the SPVA gave the VA that system.... sorry we hate it as well. Good Luck Allanira

It sucks that it takes so long but by the time that I start the rounds of appt I will no longer be pregnant lol. I will be toting a 2 yr old and newborn to them. My first claim took 3 yrs to get back a decision. Now with a ton of new evidence and everything sent in there is no going back. I will also be in a lot more pain than I am now. Gotta love pregnancy hormones lol. They are an analgesic for some of it. I just hope this time doesn't take as long. I will have 2 littles to take care of and the hubby's check only goes so far.
