don't you just love the pump. where do you have your placed? Mine is in my back. It doesn't stick out much for me. just enough that I know it's there. I didn't know you have a pump. that is so cool. I've got the 40ml pump. it's great. Well, time to go feed the horses before I go to bed. Keep in touch

i havent been here in awhile due to all kinds of things. but to answer your question. I am 4 10 and 95 lbs and have had my pump for 6 yrs with no problems. the only thing that you will have to get used it that it does stick out because the pumps full weigh 7 lbs and it depends on which pump you get as mine is the large volume one .

Carrie

7lbs? That does seem to be a little heavy. Please do tell us the success you've had with the pump, angelrsd! :)

debbie,
I am so happy with the pump. It is wonderful to be able to do things again. With the pump, you don't worry about the leads moving as the cath goes right into the spinal fluid area, and it is sealed in tight. Others with the pump ride horses, bikes, motor and manual, swim go to amusement parks, travel, work, shop, what ever they need to do. I know most drs. PUSH the scs, but I really think ppl should try BOTH the scs trial and the pain pump trial. As they are both tried before the perm one is implanted, I really think ppl would be able to make a better choice as to what is better. But as long as drs get paid to put in scs and then leave you with the company rep, it will not happen. Any questions, just ask. As you can tell, I'm in love with it and my life again.

Hugs
Mary

7lbs, I don't think my weights more then a lb or so, if that. It's the size of a hocky puck, and in compaireson to the scs, it is about the same or a little smaller. Mine sticks out a little bit, but not much.
Mine is also in the back, so that makes it easier for me.

ok mine is the 60ml not 40 my last one was 40. i have mixed meds in mine and get a hige dose of fent. and buvippicaine. Mine is placed in the my right side of my stomach. im to little to have it in my back and to much scar tissue. I have had enough pain relief that i am able to work part time and get out of the bed .. before the pump that wasnt even realistic. so im very glad that i had my pump put in 6yrs. and would do it over again. im glad that i did it. wouldnt ever do scs IMO.

I am so happy for both of you - the pain pump is my "Plan B" if the ketamine doesn't work for me. Thanks so much for sharing your success stories with all of us.

XOXOX Sandy
