Wecome back. You have been missed. I hope everything is going ok now. I've been busy. I've gotten a pain pump implanted and it has given me my life back. I am back to doing most of what I was able to do before RSD struck me down. I'm only 9 wks out of the surgery, but I'm back to cleaning the stalls, grooming the horses, working on spring cleaning, shopping, and I'm looking forward to going back to work part time. I still can get tired if I over do it, but today for the first time in a very long long time, I spent time in DSW shoe store trying on shoes, sandels, even tried on several kinds of heels. Never thought I would ever wear any time of shoe but a slipper due to the rsd. I'm hoping to start riding my horses within the next month or so. I don't want to rush it and set myself back. I'm really really happy with the pump. If only I knew about it when I first met everyone here, I would have been enjoying the last 4 years or so of my life. I hope you are feeling better. Let me know how you are.

Missed you
Mary

Hi Sandy! How are you doing? Thank you...yes things are starting to settle down.
My arms are very painful. I have the bone crushing pain and the burn. I am covered with a deep red mottled upper body and arms. I hope I can get some oxygen soon and get some relief.
I hope you are doing ok, please let me know. Whats new and happening for you? I hope you are feeling well.
Great to see your still here!

Hi Diana, it's so good to hear from you. Thank you for your message. So thoughtful of you. I think of you often. Are you still making your 'dives'?
Our daughter and son in law just moved-2bed/2bath condo. It's just less than 5 minutes from our house. The owner lives in Switzerland and painted ,new carpet, new hardwood floors. It's really cozy and quiet. They are on the top floor which is 2nd floor. Heated pool and club house with exercise equipment. I think they were with us for 15 months. We just had company for 8 days. 2 couples we are really close to. My daughter and son in law are close to them too-we had a nice evening with everyone here plus Roxy . Roxy is a little min pin-she was so happy to be back here to see her grandma and grandpa (us)
How is your health? Do you have good days along with the bad? That's the case with me-up and down. My Dr. did a trial study of 200 people and put me on it. Ambien quit working and wasn't sleeping good at all. My new med is really for fibro., which I have, and now sleeping 10 hrs a night. Was able to cut back on vicodin by two pills a day because of the restorative sleep.
Take care of yourself. I'm trying, but difficult pushing myself for exercise. I'll chat with you a little later. Your friend, loretta with big and soft hugs :grouphug::grouphug:

Its been a while since we talked. I hope things are turning around for you. Did any of the sources I gave you work out? PM when you get a chance and let me know, or give a ring. I hope you are doing ok, under the circumstances.

Hi Loretta,
I have thought of you too...often. I'm glad the kids are still close by. How are you doing? I wonder how business is for you guys? Slooooow for us. I know you were beginning a new endeavor. I was very interested in that. I hope it has worked to your advantage in some ways.
I have not been in the chamber since April 2009. The issue I spoke with you about was a brutal challenge and now we are working through the process. Then my father became very ill...he still is. All this has kept me busy and with little time for myself. I am the sandwich generation. Still have the kids and ailing, aging parents. But, I am a survivor. I just need to allow myself to have some time for me, soon.
Will write more later..
Love di

I am so sorry about your arms, and the bone crushing pain. Ughh. As a fellow RSDer, I know the pain of which you speak...Mine is mostly in my head, but started in my right shoulder from repeat right rotator cuff repair surgeries.

As for HBOT - How did you get to where that was your treatment of choice? Did you try a round of lidocaine or ketamine first? And does your insurance company cover it? Are your ears OK? One of the members of our support group here in RI tried HBOT and had a lot of trouble with her ears, and still has difficulty hearing on one side from HBOT. Just curious... I haven't tried it yet. I've been sick for 3 and half years, and will be going for outpatient low dose ketamine in NJ in a few weeks. It's taken me months and months to get it, the process was very long and time consuming and - as far as insurance goes - still not done.

Glad to see you back. Thanks for your reply.

XOXOX Sandy

Hi Diana,

It was so wonderful to see your post as you have been missed very much. The forum just isn't the same without your wise, compassionate contributions.

Hugs, Jeanne

The stress of both of these challenges has created some major changes in my body. My left leg and foot are turning in and it is currently very difficult for me to walk. I also have a lot of fliud on my left ankle which resulted from a recent injury. Both arms are extremely painful. I am hoping that the HBOT will get me back to where I use to be.
How are you doing? Please drop a note and let me know. Thanks for the welcome back! Good to be back home.

Yes stress can be a real challenge those of us with on RSD, I've been through very similar very difficult family situations so I know what of you speak. I'm sorry to hear you haven't been able to continue with the HBOT as I know it has really helped you in the past. I do hope you'll be able to get back on track again very soon. In the meantime are you able to find some quiet time for yourself to meditate or do some deep breathing exercises? Those 2 things have helped me get through life's challenges until I can get back to my lidocaine infusions.

It's so good to see you posting again.

Warm wishes.

MsL
