Default Prayers please

I am not one to ask on here, but I need prayer....I got myself so hysterically excited about college football season that I am headed into a flare...my legs are huge and retaining water and my pain is off the charts...it's really sad that being happy or participating in a fun event can throw us into a flare. It's just not fair. I look forward to fall and football all summer and when it gets here I get punished for having fun. I refuse to let RSD "ground" me for having a good time....I just need prayer for my legs to get back to normal and for my meds to work correctly...nothing seems to help when I get excited. I just want to be able to have fun with my husband and friends and not be miserable all season. I JUST WANT TO FEEL NORMAL!!!

Now that my rant is over, seriously pray for me as I pray for all of you each day

Hi Cindy,

I am first happy to hear that you had some fun. I am praying for you and I hope that things will get better for you soon. Try to take an epsom salt bath that might help a little. I am so sorry for your pain.

Sandy

Cindi, Of course, prayers are always with my friends here, but some extra ones for you tonight. With that said, I am a huge football fan myself. Go Bucks, and oh yeah, I do have to admit that I am a die hard Cleveland fan, but no threat to anyone on that front. Lisa

Lisa, thanks so much for the extra prayers...I'll say this one thing.. I'm Gold and Blue all the way, but I am Scarlet and Gray for just one day....go Bucks, BEAT MICHIGAN!!! As you can see I am from WV and cannot stand RR of the Blue and Maize....he's a traitor and ruining Michigan's football program..

My legs are still giving me issues, but we have no home game this weekend so I can rest...we had to walk a lot Saturday and usually don't have to, then Sunday we drove and my legs got the better of me from having them down so much. Next time, I won't have to do that so much.

I hope you are feeling better now Cindy and you are in my prayers! I'm in a flare right now so understand what you are going through!

I admire you for not letting RSD control your life too much. I try and do that too. It's EXTREMELY hard at times but I try and do as much as I can, when I can, knowing that i've only got one life and wont ever get my teenage years back.

Big hugs!

Alison

Right back at you, Miss Ali...I am feeling much better...my legs are back to "normal"...only the knots hurt and feel "buggy." Still retaining some water on the left side, but at least I can walk without my cane this weekend (we have an away game) It will start all over again next week, because we play Maryland at home....hopefully it won't be as bad. It depends on if we win tonight....

Yes, college football is my guilty pleasure...one goood thing is that everyone in our section knows I have RSD and are VERY considerate of my condition and help me get out when I need to. Not as much walking next Saturday.

Thanks for all the prayers and concerns

I find (for myself anyways) that it's better to medicate before an exciting time. I'm no big football fan, darn, after 27 years of this, I'm no big fan of anything.....
But, there are some things I Truly love!
So,
I've got to get 'prepared' for them!

So, I take my meds up front, rather than after the pain has started! (And, this is under Dr's orders). So, I don't feel as though I'm cheating, or misbehaving....

I may surely come out of a concert, or a game, Tired. But, not in crippling pain.

It works fairly well!

So, talk to your doctor! Maybe, the best thing to do is 'Be Prepared'!
And, take those meds, since you know your're going to need them.....

That's what I do, this old man of the mountain, with pain to spare!

Love to All,
And,
Hope you all Feel Well!

Pete

Thanks, Pete...I do medicate before the game or a exciting event, but sometimes it's the day after that bites me hard in the butt....I was better after a few days and now I am getting ready for the game Sat against Maryland. It gets better as the season goes on....I have learned over that last two years what to do, but sometimes I just can't contain myself....today is a kind of bad day, but I am getting along ok. We are finally getting rain here and that is a good thing to our area, but my body hates it!

I wish I had the magic pill for that one Cindi.....I ALWAYS pay dearly for having any fun

Do you take around the clock pain med or just 'as needed' ? I'm on the 'as needed' routine......I take extra to make it through going out and doing things, but when I slow down on the prn meds and stop taking them every four hours then WHAM ! I am DONE. Can't move, inflammation, fibro flare kicks in and rebound RSD pain from all of the ice packs I used to get through whatever fun event it was.

For you, it's football.....for me parrothead events and poker games (and, of course, family moments, but I have teens so those are getting fewer and farther between ). Can't stop doing the funnest things. Without those few golden moments.....when you almost forget about RSD and feel like 'a real person' again and LIVE, I don't think I could go on. Those moments are worth fighting for
