Hi all,
Just wanted to let everyone know how I've been doing since my pump implant 13 wks ago. GREAT!!!. Ok. maybe that is overkill, but I'm feeling great. So wonderful, that after years of being confind to bed or wheelchairs for a while, and not doing anything and being foggy brained and forgetful, that I'm going back to work full time. I'm so excited to have my life back. My brain is working as it should as the drugs don't effect my brain. Life is doing so well. It will be so nice to have something to do instead of sitting/laying be bed wishing I could do things. My garden is growing quickly, my horses are doing great (I haven't ridden yet, but that is more due to the weather then anything else). I just wanted to let you all know that there are things out there that work. We do NOT have to just sit and wait, we need to find drs that are open minded (mine wasn't, so I changed drs. even having to go to another state).there are lots of things out there that can be tried if your dr is willing. Well, gotta go and buy some clothes to wear to work. Gently hugs Mary

Thanks for the update Mary! I'm sure it gives hope to the many with RSD who I'm sure feel there is no hope left.

That sounds so wonderful. Congrats on the mostly pain free to the point you are going back to work.!!!
I forgot to take meds yesterday due to being interrupted when I was about to go take them right? Well let me tell you my feet hurt so badly that if I had to deal with my pain like that 24/7 again I would probably end my life. It took me hours to get on top of that gosh awful pain.......hours. Because it took me hours to figure out why I was hurting like that. It was 8 hrs after the time I should have taken them before I figured it out. I thought I was going into a major flare due to the darn weather here. It got cold again in Northern Cali & even snowed here. When I don't forget, I take pain meds orally but let me say this, my pain for the most part is under control, BUT my brain doesn't work for squat. I forget everything. I could sleep almost 24/7 it seems at times. And I really really hate being so foggy & sleepy & listless. I don't do half the stuff that needs done just because I am too tired & exhausted to do it. I might think about trying one of those pain pumps in the near future. I just feel something needs to give here........... DebbyV |

Your updates mean SO much!! Not only are they inspiring, but they give HOPE! And there are countless new people coming here every day with questions! They WANT to hear straight from the patients......rather than relying only what the doctors say and web-searching......they need to hear REAL people tell their stories!!!
The fact that you are doing so well and STILL sticking here with us means so much! It seems like so many times, the success stories fade away because those folks don't feel the need to be on a pain forum any longer......which makes the 'not so good' stories seem to be the bigger percentile! So THANK YOU so much for being committed to your family here and continuing to remind us of progress and hope for a new life! By making yourself available to tell your story to the new folks, you let it be known that Success IS possible......not to give 'false hope' but to be a testimony that there ARE people who's lives have been changed by these things! Thank you!! |

Hi Mary,
What an amazing transition from all the pain and failed procedures you've been through! Your story is similar to someone I met who had been on so many meds she had to go to re-hab... Finally she got a pump and has her life and mind back as well. It is comforting and good to know that this can be an option..I think that as time goes by, the delivery system will even be more refined and improved to make it even better. In the meantime, I am so happy that you have enthusiasm, mobility and hope again. Can you imagine the incredible exultation when you are able to ride again!!! hugs from Hope4thebest |

Hi Mary,
I was driving my daughter to her PM appointment, crossing over the Howard Frankland Bridge in Tampa is a beautiful ride, and I said to myself, we have not heard from Lost Mary in a long time...I was going to start a post to see if you were doing well. I am so very happy for you. My daughters pm wants to put a stimulator in her. But my girl does not want to do this. I am going to have her read your post. The doc seems to think this is the last resort for her. I am happy for you. Sandy |
