Default A little sleep please....

Help ! I am in about a week plus flare with my LLE (original RSD in LUE which spread to entire left side) , the burning is the worst I have experienced....My sleep has turned into an hour or less to be awoken to the pain . I cannot get it to break ! I take the meds I have prescribed and have Chloryl Hydrate and Restoril to attempt to help with sleep , but no luck . This may sound really dumb but I hurt way to bad to go sit in the docs office (not sure what else he could give anyhow) , I take hot baths 24/7 to ease it up , but the relief does not stick . Sorry for rambling but this is the worst pain without relief in the 10 yrs of having this stuff . What do y'all do to help sleep during times like this ? I need/want/must go to sleep !!!

Hi! I am so sorry you are in so much pain. I can feel for you though, my RSD is in my left side foot and leg and I now have a pinched nerve in my neck on my left side. I too am having trouble sleeping. Right now on bad nights before bed the doctor has me taking 2 trazodone 50mg, 2 zertec 10mg, vistaril 25mg, orphenadrine 100mg, dilaudid 4mg(will be switched to extended release next visit). This combo has been succesful in atleast getting about 4-6 hours uninterupted sleep. On normal nights I take 1 of everything. They recentley did a sleep study to make sure I could tolerate them with no assistance through the night but have not got the results yet. I also take Neurotin 800mg but I would take it anyway. Tonight I have tried taking only the diaudid and the orphenadrine and I am having trouble sleeping but am home alone so my OCD makes it hard to knock my self out and be able to handle the thought of doing it. If I would just not fight it I would have taken it and slept but have major anxiety at night when alone. Maybe you can find you a good combo too. Have a great night.

I take remeron 15mg brand name the oral disolving tablets to sleep. they knock me out within 20 minutes. I dont stay asleep for more than 5 hours, but its something. it is my hero, some nights I sleep 8 hours CRAZYYY I KNOW!!! It is literally my lifesaver. I split the tablet into half, and then take one half at aboiut 9, then another around 1-2 when I wake up. If you take more than half, its no gain for the sleep effect.

Here is to needing sleep.

For me sleep is a huge issue and I have tried so many meds for it with little relief. I so can understand too about hurting too bad to go to the doctors it. It is like I feel to drained. Is there someone who could take you and is there a better time of day where you could make the appointment? Have you tried trazadone? Out of all my meds to assist that was the best one and pain docs have suggested as well. I hope you get some rest soon

I can only catch about 5 hours at a stretch....I haven't really found the right thing for my sleep problems, because I have been prone to spasms at night, lately...I am still searching for the Sandman!!

Many times I have felt to bad to go to the doctor's office. I can relate to you there. I have had RSD for 8 years & sometimes I go for 76+ hours with NO SLEEP. It is miserable. Just last month, my new PM physician prescribed "Seroquel 100mg" taken at bedtime. It usually works, but a boost of Phenergan 25 mg will help on the really hard nights. I can relate and I am SO sorry for you. I have found no miracle cure, but this helps better than anything else I've tried. "Vistaril 25 mg" will also give a boost to anything the doc gives you for sleep, but just doesn't cut it.
Hang in there. That is all we can do. I am in the middle of the worst flare that I have had in years. It is so bad I actually thought something bad had happened to me - I had hurt myself, caught the flu, all at the same time.
I understand what you are going through, but that doesn't ease your pain. Sorry!
