Well, besides the RSD...

I got hurt at work back in 2008. Had 3 surgeries on my ankle and I know have Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome in my right ankle. Surgery didnt work to fix it. Know I am looking at the possibly of having a Spinal Cord Stimulator implant.

Besides the issue's with RSD, the tarsal tunnel issue keeps me awake more then the RSD.... And I have issues with meds..

Oxycodone gives me Migranes.
Hydrocodone doesnt work.
Amitryptiline has yet to work.
Lyrica sent me to the ER.
Celebrex I get nothing from.

I have taken many more.. and nothing works...

And my last rant........ Well I won't publish my thoughts about Workers COmp. It would just get me banned.

Besides RSD, I went to see a dentist today to get a nightguard that he invented for my jaw because I clench and grind and i chipped my tooth last night. His nightguard is http://www.pinefamilydentistry.com/T...ingRelief.aspx it is a video with it too. he invented it and it prevents your teeth from touching unlike the mouthguards other dentists give. He has changed it since this video and its to invisiline type retainers on top and bottom!!! I am so excited to get it. if anyone is interested in it let me know.

Other than RSD... I have kerataconus, which is a disease in your cornea where it stretches so bad that hopefully i wont need a cornea transplant. My cousin is 23 and has had 2 cornea transplants already. I cant wear contacts because my eyes are so sensitive lately, but I need to wear contacts to see to "smooth my eye"

It is a blessing that I have my wonderful family around me who supports me everyday and keeps me going. I have a little sister that is the shining star of my days. She is just so joyful and I dont know how I would be without her. I wish I could duplicate her and send her to others to share her sunshine smile and happiness My mom is there for me every minute of everyday. I would not be standing if it wasnt for her. May God truly bless and give years of health and joy to those that are around us in our homes that love and nurture us daily!!! Bless their hearts!

Hi KS...sorry about your jaw pain is this something new? Because you are unable to take medication, if your pain is exceptionally high right now, you may be clinching your jaw unconsciously as a way to deal with the pain. This hot weather seems to have sent many on a rampage.

Aside from the RSD pain, I babysat for my daughter's three month old puppy last week. She is/was the cutest little thing I have ever seen, and I was actually excited to be able to do something to help her out. Well....cute isn't everything...that puppy is the spawn of satan!!!! I got the most intense Pt last week that I have ever had in my life. Now mind you, I am only out of a wheelchair four weeks and bearing weight!!! WHAT WAS I THINKING. I stood out in the rain at two in the morning trying to convince her (satan) to come outside with granny, right, she stood by the door and let it go. That was the first night. To make a long story short, last night was her last night here, and I just sat on my couch and watched her chew the wood on my computer chair, I had so much pain and was so exhausted I just couldn't move. Right about that time my husband came around the corner with one slipper on and one off looking for the little devil and his slipper and then I actually had an accident in the house. Ceasar Milan would have enjoyed this one. She picked her up this morning, I slept for four hours, I will deal with the pain (rsd) right now in my quiet little house, but I will not watch that puppy again. I am a complete animal lover, have two dogs of my own and wouldn't know what I would do without them, but this puppy is crazy, I even had to give my lab some aspirin for her painful hips, as she was trying to help a sister out and now she is limping. So for this week, along with the heat and airconditioning problems my biggest problem (satan) has gone home and home is where she will stay until she learns some manners!!

Wishing you all a pain free night.

Well , this pain is RSD related but maybe it will make me feel better writing about it like you said.....I Miss My Job !!! I spent 28 yrs as a firefighter and they were truly my 2nd family as we worked 24 hr shifts together....you say you will stay in contact and keep in touch , but some of my fellow firefighters I haven't seen in over a year . I miss the adrenaline rush of driving the firetruck with the sirens and air horn blowing....lol , I miss the horseplay and jokes we played on each other . I was scheduled to retire in July of 2011 so maybe at that time I will not think about it so much , but sometimes my mind wonders about what would I be doing today at the fire station (and what are they doing) . This is not so much a physical pain as a mental pain but it still hurts.....Hope all have a good night and take care !

RU ready...

I so understand your hurtful pain of being away from your 2nd family/work..Your glue and happy life at the firehouse... It is really sad ... RSD has just chistled away another portion of you/us. I too, had to leave my work in Dec. 09, in medical research for 25 years of my life due to my RSD... It has left my heart in a shambles.. I miss my people/friend connections..why just yesterday, 11 of the ladies from my building came by and brought me lunch... I am not sure how long, if ever the pain will lessen that we feel from losing our glue...I know it is taking a bunch out of me so far..But hold close to the memories and love of those friendships and fun cultivated there..As those are your blessings..so rich treasures and invite them by for a visit when you miss them the most as I am sure they miss you equally the same!!! And what a pick me up for you...

Bless you my friend...

Hugz, Kathy

Oh Boy! I can really relate to the loss of the 2nd family. I really miss my work associates and friends. Other than that I have severe arthritis i both of my knees, pre RSD two doctors told me that I needed knee replacements but now I am scared to death to even think about it. I guess one good thing about the RSD is that i am so heavily medicated now that I do not notice the knee pain as much. Thanks all! Lisa

Oh yeah Bugguy, do not even get me started about WC. I just got another great big denial stamp. I wonder if they even have one that says Approved?

Lisa in Ohio.... They do have 1 stamp labeled Approved, unfortunately they have to get approval to use it and they deny their own request too.

Sorry to hear about your jaw pain, Keep Smilin. I hope it has settled down now.

I'm in a lot of pain also lately. I keep collapsing (not sure why - Doctor thinks its due to RSD but had head MRI to rule out other possible causes) and think i've pulled something in my back as it is really painful. It's not an RSD type pain but it is absolute agony and I can't move / walk much because of it.

Thankfully I have an appointment with an Orthopaedic Dr tomorrow as my PM Dr thinks it's an Ortho problem seeing as it isn't RSD pain. Hopefully he'll be able to sort something out for me.

RSD in my legs flaring up quite badly because of this also and no medications seem to be working. Doc now wants to do an intracathedral baclofen pump - not too sure about this but if it works it will be a lifesaver! I'm currently going through testing for that now.

I hope everyone feels better soon!

Alison
