Thanks! :) They are giving it because it is an NMDA antagonist. More info is available here.

Thanks for the compliments on my name!

I did read about the NMDA antagonist. Please keep us posted on the outcome. I'm very interested. Good Luck.

Hi There,
Yes, I have taken Namenda in the past. I took it 10 months after my initial injury and I had full body RSD. I was having a severe problem with recalling words and remembering things...my memory was nonexistent and I was a mess. That stuff was great and worked real well. It was a Godsend for me at the time. It made me feel "almost" normal in my brain and got rid of most of the brainfuzz. I remember taking one pill for a few days, then two, then three, etc. I always have problems taking any kind of meds and with this I did not have any problems as I can remember (it was five years ago). Another idea which I used pre-RSD days (what was that like huh???) was Ginko Biloba (sp?) in a very small amount (because I have a hard time taking meds and supplements too). It really worked great for me then too. Now, it is kind of a running joke in my house because I will want to say something and then poof it is gone from my brain. My son says "Mom, wait five minutes and you will get it." It is sad what we go through but I have to try and remember and get others to help me remember what we were talking about before the poof happened. I believe I took it for about two months and it helped me get over the brainfuzz. Best of luck to you and let us know how it works for you.
Take care,
kathy d
