So true. Here's my take on doctors who think patients are faking RSD---Most folks do not know or even heard of RSD. It is a disease that would be extremely hard to fake especially over time. So, why is it doctors often give out that vibe to those with RSD that they are faking? I just don't know, it makes no sense to me. If many doctors know little about RSD what would make them think the run of the mill malingering would know more?

I actually had my Dr. tell me that he felt that not only was I not in "real" pain, but he said I "liked being in pain". I actually and honestly told him to kiss my ***! and left the office. How can people be so educated and so stupid at the same time?

Thanks, I liked that story a lot. It reminded me of my first years with RSD.
After years of suffering with it and going from Dr. to Dr. my PCP ask me to go out and buy a computer and help him diagnose me. He had only had one other case of it in his 20 years before me. Someone on the TOS forum on BT told me what I was dealing with. I was blessed enough to have a Dr. and a PA that ran with it and helped me. No one should have to go what we go through with this. I was so far gone and suicidal had it not been for my PCP I wouldn't have kept going. We deal with something new everyday from the RSD. It's too bad that more Drs. aren't getting the gist of it. Thanks again. Ada Last edited by dreambeliever128; 08-13-2010 at 08:22 PM. Reason: spelling |
