Heart Incedent in pre-op for Ganglion Block

Hi everyone,

I was due to have my SGB on this Thursday. Well, that didn't happen.
When my son and I arrive at the surgical center, after filling out some paper work we waited for me to be called. Finally I was called back I got as far as getting undress, and my vital signs taken, my blood pressure was 180/110. I told the nurse that I was having some slight pressure in my chest. She had me to recline in the chair, and asked to relax. My bp was taken again and it was still high. The pressure in my chest did subside just a little but I found that my breathing was just a slightly difficult. The PM doc and anesthesiologist came into the pre-op room and said that I needed to go to the ER just to make sure that my heart was okay.

My son took me there and after one nitroglycerin pill my bp still was high. My RSD/CRPS is in my left upper extremity so they were not allowed to get blood from that arm or do their bp check in that arm. While there I had a very bad flare up, all I could do was lay there and cry. I was given percoset and it helped a little. After trying numerous times to get blood from my right arm which has mirrored my left arm's symptoms.

They were not able to get blood because once the needle was in they said that my veins disappeared. The doc said that I was extremely dry, then tried using a portable ultrasound machine to find a vein but still the vein was constricted. He didn't want to put in a central line because it would be too big. Finally they were able to get some blood from a vein in my shoulder. They wanted to start an IV this is the other reason they were so adminant in trying to a vein. Funny thing is that even after going through all that once they got the blood down to chemisty, my blood coagulated so quickly, and what good blood they had, when it was being spun my cells exploded. So again they came back for more blood, and finally was able to get the test they needed down to see if I was trying to have a heart attack, which I was not.

The pressure in my chest was still there. I was given another nitro pill under my tongue, and finally my pressure came down. My EKG had not changed from the last time I was there, meaning other than having T wave depressions, nothing had changed. I was admitted on the Telemetry unit for monitoring. Guys ever since I've had my injury in 2008 I've been in pain and my bp has be high. Hopefully I will be able to have the SGB done sometime next week.

Has any of you had any problems with you blood pressure or pressure in your chest? Took my bp tonight and it was 166/110. I can't sleep and I am so worry that if this continues that I my have a stroke. Anyone have any answers, or similar situation like this? They think that because of all the medication I've been on that I've developed acid reflux. And that this was why I was having the chest pressure. I was given a prescription for Protonix and Xanox for anxiety.
