Hi all, am back to the fold.
Had some issues on top of the CRPS that needed attention...rains,pours aaargh I know there is a sub forum but didnt find any mention of this: I hope its placement is OK. QUESTION: The proposal is percutaneous neural stimulation which in short is the embodiment of SCS but locally - adressing the particularly affected root nerve and its related branches. Anyone done this? Thoughts from others would be appreciated. This is also referred to as Peripheral neural stimulation. This involves implantation of 2 sets of octad leads in the proximity of the affected nerves in my affected limb obviously with a stim connected. For some reason I am scared for the first time in my life. To review: I have severe CRPS R knee (spread to whole leg) that is going visceral and mirroring in opposite lower limb. This is year 8 of severe CRPS. SCS failed dismally x2 attempts. Intrathecal morphine has provided some relief in the past but as the condition retains its dynamic nature and is in a state of flux, the efficacy of the pump has declined. Numerous oral meds - moderate efficacy at best. Many thanks Auberon Last edited by Auberon; 09-14-2010 at 10:28 PM. Reason: poor title |
