Default Cleveland Clinic

I had a consult for possible Ketamine infusions at the Cleveland Clinic done in May and I wanted to pass along my experience. I saw Dr. Vrooman who works with Dr. Stanton-Hicks. I was told that the waiting list for infusions was 2 years long. They encouraged me to consider a spinal cord stimulator first. Also you may want to check with your insurance company to see if they cover the infusions as some still consider it experimental. I don't know if anything at the clinic has changes since May but just thought I would give a heads up.

Well, a little nervous here - and thankfully I have someone special pulling for me and sending good vibes my way! I will start my first Ketamine Infusion tomorrow at 9am!

Perhaps I will do an After Action Report (AAR) or "Hotwash" as we called it in the Corps! I will be thinking of you all when the needle goes into my arm. lol.

*Ps. Anyone in the Washington, DC / Virginia / Maryland area who would like to start seeing my Pain Management physician is welcome to contact me via PM for details.

I really wish fmichael was still active here on NT. You might want to try looking through some of his posts about SCS, if you're not familiar with them.

Just got home. Can barely talk or walk on my own at moment n hope I don't say anything bad. Will give details later but OMG OMG OMG it was like NOTHING I've ever done in my life! Both exhilarating and at once terrifying until I was calmed down. Absolutely unreal feeling.
Ttyl.

Hope that OMG OMG OMG translates to "Free at Last, Pain-free at last." Let us know when you gently float back to earth.
