I've also had two chemical stress test done with unremarkable results. So far no one has said anything about CRPS being the cause. Rather was told that my problem was from all the medications I've been taking was causing the chest pain, and was given protonax. Like you I didn't want to go cryinig wolf, but I believe that the CRPS has everything to do with it. All my labs BMP, CBC, etc., came back great, but my blood pressure (hypertenion) is out of control!

I hope someone here comes along that is a lot more knowledgable about this than I am, so you can get your question answered. But I've had the same symptoms that you are having.

It will be a treadmill stress test and the medication injected will make you feel like there is pressure on your chest. But just try to do the best you can on the treadmill...hang in there and let them know if you are getting dizzy, light headed or can't go on. They will take your blood pressure, and your heart will be monitored by a doctor will while your on the treadmill. You might have a radiology test before the Thailum stress test and one after if my memory is up to speed. Good luck and please let us know how things turn out.
Thank you and we may be on to somethin here ...AS my Cardiologists seems to be right on track with this as he said..this stress test will conclude any abnormalilty with my heart both mechanically and morphologically..plus allow us to see if my parent's heart issues were passed on to me..also remember, I have a heart problem already of 23 yrs..., leaky valve and history of afib, arthermia...so all of that will be checked upon as well during the test..... Heres were I think we are getting somewhere cuz as my Dr. stated..if everything comes out status quo..then he feels it is RSD in my chest wall... esp. with the pain being present most of the time as I breathe, sometimes it is there even when I don't breathe..and can last for hours making me feel uncomfortable, heavy chested.... oh boy..now theres an admission I haven't said... ALSO he explained I/we as neurologic patients will NOT exhibit the same warning signs of a heart aliment as normal Joe down the street because as due to neurologic issues our signs will be different cuz were neuologically different in responses with our body.. or we may not get warning signs at all ... we could have even a silent heart attack..

The stress test I am having is called a Regadenoson Nuclear Stress Test..it will take ~ 5 hours with iv fluids to stimulate my heart to an active level....no treadmill as I am not able to walk very well due to RSD..my worst RSD affected area is my rt. leg and use a decrative cane to get around.....so I'll have to lie down for this and be a good patient.. They did say they will give me a small window of time in order to have some food due to my fasting for the exam..all in all... a restful day..

Pray for me on Friday, my friend..as Iam ok doing this as an evaluation but if they find something, blockage or such.. or even say the RSD has migrated into my chest..Well..it will be okay.. but as you know a little more to digest on our plate..just as we feel each time our pain shows up somewhere else in our bodies... RSD so lovely...

I know..I'll study and real hard to do well and pass this darn stress test..Ya think that will do it????

No matter what..I still love life for what it is and what I have..today and after Friday..Call me crazy but..I still open my arms up for each new day brings as I can handle it..with a smile!!

love, KS

Thinking of you and hope things are ok. I have to say you have an amazing outlook that is very positive. I am not a positive person in general but trying to learn to be. You and others are good role models. Stay strong and feel better.

Hey KS,

No matter what the out come on Friday, God is still in charge of it all. You sound soo much like myself when it comes to welcoming in each day. It's the little things that make us strong. As I mention once before that while taking a walk around the lake...usually I could handle a strong power walk around the complete lake which is about two miles. But now I'm lucky to get half way at a normal pace without pain. But I am bless to be able to do it at all. I'm a writer, and with both arms having cubital tunnel, my dreams of being a famous writer, I use to think was over, but like you use your cane, I will be looking into a program for my computer that is voice activated.

As far as not being able to do the treadmill thing...I've been there before back in 2004. Tore my tendon in my right ankle, and was having really bad chest pains, shortness of breath etc,. Had to lay on the table while given the injection for nuclear stress test. So I know what you mean. SK, you are being somebodies miricale today, for that be grateful for that's what "He" wants us to be. For that you will be blessed, and he does hear your cry, and pity your goans. Hasten to his throne to bless him, and I will hasten to his throne to stand up for you, and ask for his mercy, grace and lift you up. For you are somebodies blessing and for that you should be blessed.

Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. My friend is in need of supporting hands to be kept on the Just path. KS heart is troubled so I come to you on KS behalf striving to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show KS and all those doctors the right way to a just and right resolution.

KS, do not look forward to what may happen
tomorrow; the same everlasting Father who cares
for you today will take care of you tomorrow and
every day. Either He will shield you from suffering,
or He will give you unfailing strength to bear it.
Be at peace, then. Put aside all anxious thoughts and
imaginations, and say continually: "The Lord is my
strength and my shield. Your heart has trusted in Him
and you am helped. He is not only with you but in you,
and you in Him."

Thank you for hearing my prayer and for staying by KS side. Amen!

Okay, you've got me in tears of joy KS so I've got to get down off my
prayer box. I'm sure the community here will keep you in their prayers as well. My prayer is for everyone that is going though something...I have my arms wraped around all of you!

My Gosh, Lefty..

With all that you did and said on my behalf, I can't thank you enough..To have taken the time to feel for me and place such a wonderful prayer into words..No matter what happens Friday..I am surely covered..I feel very safe and comfortable and at peace.. No matter what the message of the day is.. You have covered my back so completely that I can take the easy route and say..yes to everything..lay still and relaxed... My only other wish is I wish all of you here could accompany me that day so we could have a good ol'e gang around visit and enjoy our time together..

Bless you too my friend, Lefty and all of you who took time to write to me... If it is ok.. I extend your prayers to my sweet Mom, who is not feeling well and just last week, I have had to place her with hospice care..So as you can see..your tender words are timely for me (and my Mom).. it has been a bit (heart).. crazy for me lately.. but Iam not caving..I love her more everyday that I have her with me!! If that is even possible..

We were mean't to walk thru this stuff together as there is no other strength stronger than those who can bear RSD and reserve the love in their heart for a bright and happy out look for the next new day.. not to have our outlook clouded by pain but our outlook be with a happy heart and smile just because of who we are and what we already have... AND due to those who have touched our lives!! THANK YOU!!!!

Much love, Kathy..

Hi Kathy, I was having the same thing that you describe. Went through all the testing and did find out that I had two small heart attacks this past summer. I had a really bad time with the heart meds, they really increased my pain level. Finally my PC doc put it all together. I was taking elavil since WC had decided they were no longer going to pay for my Cymbalta or any other anti-depressants, and my doc said that she had two other patients on elavil that had had the same heart problems and this was a very rare reaction to elavil. She gave me some samples of Cymbalta to replace the elavil and voila!! Most of the heart problems resolved. I do hope that your tests come back well for you and you are certainly in my heart and prayers. Lisa
