Default Cortisol levels are low.....anyone else? or know what that means?

My GI doc did some blood lab tests at my last appt. He called my primary & was very concerned that my Cortisol level was low at 2.8. THey are sending me to endocrinology. THey have called & rescheduled with me 3 times trying to get me in ASAP. I see them this Friday. My docs seem pretty concerned about this, not sure why. They said it could explain all the nausea/vomitting, but that wasnt what they were most concerned about. So, I have no clue what is going on. I dont know if the labs alone have them concerned, or if it is the labs combined with my medical history. New doc said if they couldnt get me in soon enough that they would probably hospitalize me to figure out whats going on. I am still wearing my heart monitor. Think I have a few weeks left with that. Wish me luck on Friday!!! Anyone else ever had a low Cortisol level......didnt know if it could be RSD related....hope everyone is having a good weekend.
