Unhappy Thanks to all

Just wanted to take a moment to thank all who post here. I have been visiting this site for a few months now and for the first time since I was diagnosed 14 months ago I don't feel so alone in living with this. Like so many here I was let down by our medical system. I have dealt with doctors who were arrogant. rude, condescending, incompetent and heartless. At times I don't know which is worse, the rsd or the doctors. Fourteen months ago I was told I had a "mild" case of rsd that needed no treatment. After seeing 8 mds. 3 physical therapists,1 chiropractor and 2 pain clinics I have lost the use of my entire left leg. I can walk short distances with a leg brace and cane ,otherwise I use a scooter or wheelchair. What I find especially appalling about this whole situation is that I am a registered nurse who always thought that the medical profession would be as kind to me as I had been to it.....boy,was I wrong.!!!!!: I have so many questions but I don't want to trouble anyone right now. But, thanks to all who read my story.

Default Doctor Doctor it hurts when I do this!

Then dont do that! LOL Thats about the way the doctors have handled me.

Welcome to the best RSD family I know of

Sorry to hear your having such problems. Dont you wish they could take us serious for once?? Ya know my right leg is getting like your left leg. I was just commenting to my family that it is almost impossible for me to walk. The bad thing is I hate to admit it. It is like signaling defeat. Goin on 7 years with the infernal RSD.

When you said you thought you would get treated the way you treated them, it made me think how probably most of us put so much care and emotion into our work. Some of us get to find out just how uncaring most everyone is. They didnt even appreciate all you did, when you were doing it for caring reasons.

Just remember it isnt the people we are trying to please anyways, it is our creator. He is well pleased when people care for others, that is when we resemble him

Sooo glad you found us!

Used To Be: I, too, just recently discovered this forum. I have had the dreaded RSD (also a "mild" case) for over 20 years. I have not found any face-to-face support groups in my area, so this is a very welcome outlet. Even just reading without having to post can be a comfort. I will add my thanks to all as well.
