Default Help-Dr. report

Has anyone ever had a Dr. consult and Dr. gives you his impression and then when you get his report it has an inaccurate history? I am so upset. This was a needed consult for my w/c case and the Dr. totally gave wrong info. What can i do? Even if i call and he corrects it, the original consult is a permanent part of my chart. I am so disappointed with Drs. Do really listen? What do i do? momof4

OH RNcrps2, I feel your pain!!! Although I haven't heard of such a thing, but I have read some inaccurate (current) medical history reports from W/C doctors. The doctor misqouted() what I've said. For example...said "I fell," when I didn't, but it just so happen that I had overheard him making his dectation, and I currected him on that.
W/C doctor stated in report that I said, "I heard a pop in my wrist!" But I never said exactly where I heard the pop, only that it was in my arm. Not only inaccurate but one set of some very important information from the PT was also left out completely! I'm talking that the events of that day wasn't in the computer, and is very important to my case! Unlucky for me this PT was not a staff member, but agency filling in for someone.

RNcrps, I feel so bad for you because like yourself, I'm dealing with W/C.
Please let us know what your attorney is saying about all this. Then from now on make sure you get a copy of your reports...immediately, if you can, and get a copy to your attorney right away!

PS...as for "if they really listen," I asked the W/C PM that question once because I was fustrated, hurting, and had enough!! I was told, "everyone is listening to you, but you're just not getting the answers that "you" want to hear." If I wasn't a lady, I would have told him what was on my mind ! But this isn't about me, so let me say this, W/C plays so many games, not that the doctor was playing games. But it's all a process and they will try to push you to the point of just giving in, or up...but you try to hold on! Hang in there, you are not alone, even thou it feels like it sometimes. I will pray for you!

I'll do some checking about your question, and get back to you. I'm sure someone will come along that can answer it. I think it's going to be okay RNcrps. This stress is not good for you! Was this the IME, or treating doctor?

I have filed written responses to inaccurate doc reports with both the doctor's office and my attorney. In one instance, I filed a complaint with the Board of Health in my state because a report was so inaccurate and the PM doc actually had the nerve to say that my pain was all in my head - even though he wrote me a script for methadone!! That was during a terrible time for me, when my RSD had just started to spread into the occipital area of my head and I was a total mess!! I was really concerned that the report was going to invalidate my WC claim when I was getting sicker every day.

During the last year the quarterly newsletter of the RSDSA had an awesome column on WC issues and I believe that this issue in particular may have been discussed. You may want to check out thier website to see if back articles are archived. I am almost certain that the author discusses how she had one doctor's license revoked in her state for shoddy reporting.

Good luck to you. XOXOX Sandy

RN, Make the corrections on the report, notations on how the doctor treated you, questions that he asked and your replies and any other information that took place during the exam. Make a copy of this and give one to your attorney. You may also need to give a copy to your doctor so that he can prepare a rebuttal. So sorry to hear that you are in the WC system. This disease is bad enough without having the stress of WC. I have been in that wonderful system for over eight years now and it no fun.

Default Hi

I've seen this more then once. Not just with WC. It's happened on my files several times with Drs. I've seen. It's hard for us because then we know the truth but can't prove what they said to us.
When my husband went to a Dr. for his back for WC. The Dr. actually said he didn't see Bill. Strange that you see a Dr. and he has no file and says he didn't see you.
I would do as others said and write what he told you down for your lawyer so your side can be presented.
