Please go to the ER with your medical notes, they will give you a few days of meds to get you through. You need a new primary care doc right away! Get someone that will take care of you. Ask your friends who might have a good doctor for you to build a new relationship with. I had to do the same thing. I ahd a dr for 19 years. i figured he cared about me ect. whenever i needed pain help during my last year, he was a jerk. i didnt have a diagnosis and he was acting like i was a drug addict. finally i called around and found a new primary care. when i presented the idea to him that i might have RSD he said i think your right! and he changed all my meds and i have been mostly pain free when im sitting in bed, before i was still in too much pain. now when i move i still have pain but i think i always will because i have internal rsd and my stomach is swollen, that hurts when i move, so does my herniated disc. My primary is managing my pain right now because i didnt like the treatment from the pain management clinics i had gone to.

Please go to the ER, its hurting me thinking of you suffering dear, i truly mean it, and you have to go to work on top of being in pain, its not worth it. Friday is TOO far away!

Hi Catra, What worries me most is abruptly stopping meds like Lyrica-seriously there are many meds we can't just stop-dangerous- Could have a seizure. I would go to ER or go to a familiar Dr. who would give me the meds for 5 days. Please take care of yourself. Do you take your blood pressure? Can get a kit for $30 at Costco or Wallmart. Most of us have high blood pressure issues because RSD is an autonomic condition. Please let us know you are getting help NOW> your friend, loretta

Just couldn't take it anymore. My leg started shaking uncontrollably (which hasn't happened this severly since before the diagnosis and treatment for the CRPS). I went to the ER. The nurse was a little rude and I got the sense that she felt like I was there for drugs...but the doc is one I have seen before in the ER and he was very helpful. Didn't give me any of my usual meds...but gave me some stuff to bring down my heart rate/blood pressure which were REALLY high due to the pain and some Norco (which doesn't really help with the pain but at least my headache is gone now). It's certainly better than nothing and should get me through tomorrow for the appt with the pain management doc. I also got a note for work so hopefully I won't have to deal with a major verbal beating from my boss next time I'm in. Who am I kidding...that's EXACTLY what I'm in for...but at least I have a note to cover me from any other kind of retaliation.

Hopefully I'll be able to get a little bit of sleep now that the tremors have stopped.

Just got home from my appointment with my new doctor. I like him and I already feel like he cares more than many of the others that I have seen in the past. Because I have already been off the medications since Saturday, he is taking me off 4 of them and adding another one in place of the Lyrica. The Lyrica seemed to be helping but he didn't like that I gained 20lbs on it so he's switching it to Neurontin...which supposedly has less side effects or causes side effects in less people or something like that. I don't have it yet as the pharmacy needs approval from work comp before they can fill that perscription. So...meanwhile...I'm still in pain. But this doc is sending me to a foot and ankle specialist and to get an MRI of my back just to make sure that there's nothing in my spine that is interfering with the nerves. He feels pretty confident that the CRPS diagnosis is correct...but just wants to make sure all the other bases are covered since I am a new patient for him. Then he wants to do a series of lumbar sympathetis blocks to see if those help (as opposed to the single one that I had almost a year ago). Not sure if they will help...but I'm willing to give anything a shot at this point. It's nice to have a doctor with a plan other than, "Just be normal." Fingers crossed that I will get the perscription today and will be at a more manageable pain level soon.

Dear Catra, I am sorry you are in that situation. That would make anyone upset. If you can't be seen in timely fashion, please consider the emergency room. Withdrawing from medications all at once isn't a good idea. I do think the hospital would contact necessary doctors too and maybe hurry things along. ginnie:hug:

I am glad you found a dr. That took some stress of for sure. Nobody would have liked to be in that situation. ginnie:hug:
