Hi Jenna,

My daughter has RSD and has low blood pressure, or it is called POTS, it is part of the autonomic nervous system. When her blood pressure drops she used to take meds to raise her blood pressure. Her new cardiologist now has told her to take sudafed to raise her pressure. But, if you are having problems with your blood pressure, you need to let your doctor know. It could be a medication that you are on. So give them a call.

Good luck,
Sandy

I think a lot of us have the opposite problem and ours is too high. Good luck getting it taken care of.

My husband had slightly high bp but his heart rate was way high so a year ago they put him on Atenalol (sp?) and its made it in a healthy range now. Some pain medications can lower blood pressure. When they thought I was having a heart attack (was anxiety) my bp was sky high and they pumped me up with morphine it brought it right back down. So maybe if youre normal and taking something that helps to lower it its making it low? Not sure!

I have POTS what Sandy's daughter also have. I was told by my Neurologist that it was probably caused by the RSD as it's worse when I am in more pain. I can faint about 20-25 times daily when things are really bad. The other day I was Christmas shopping with my boyfriend and I had a really bad spike in pain and the next thing I knew was waking up on the floor confused and surrounded by people. Really hurt myself then and have been in more pain than usual.

I'm having a 24 hour blood pressure monitor fitted a week on Thursday to see just how bad my BP is. My Neuro's told me that I need to see a Cardiologist but I am unable to see them until I am 16 (February) ... so frustrating!

My Doctor wouldn't put me on any BP meds as my blood pressure isn't low all the times ... it just goes low at times. Was told they wouldn't work well because of that and would lower my BP too much.

I hope things improve for you. If you want to talk i'm here!

My normal BP these days since I got RSD has been about 90/60. When I am having a really really bad flair to where I'm in the hospital my BP is way over the normal range.
