MY CHRISTMAS WITH RSD

T’was the wee hours of Christmas,
And all through the house, not a soul is stirring, except me clicking my mouse

My kitties are nestled all snug in their beds
Their purring so loud, it kind of hurts my head

When out on the lawn there was a loud “crack”
Oh wait, that was me and my poor aching back

So I get out of bed, oh wait its my couch
My body is screaming “oh sh%$ and “ouch”

My stockings were thrown over the tub without care
And I haven’t even bothered to brush out my hair

I fumble with my coffee trying to clear my head
Thinking of that turkey, kind of with dread

I say a quick prayer with a sly little grin
Wishing I’d bought the ones in the tin

But a feast I must cook and cook it I will
With a little help of one of my pills

And if it gets real bad, I may shed a tear
But have no worries, it’s only once a year

May we all get through the day as pain-free as possible

Complete agreement here. I'm pretty sure there are no shoes in this house that will contain the balloon like feet I have, but that's ok. I made fresh cinnamon rolls for the firemen and policemen in my town, and now I get to take a nap! The feet will get back to normal, I hope. Well maybe not normal but something I can get into shoes.

But gratitude to those who stand by to defend and protect us cannot be expressed enough.
