Question Have you tried the Four F's diet?

How did it work for you? Did you notice any improvement in pain or other symptoms?

Find the Four F's diet here:
http://www.rsdrx.com/four_f's_diet.htm

link doesn't work-
looks like you need to go to the home page and then click on the FOUR F'S DIET tab.

Heya

Well.... I have not tried this diet - but I tend to eat very healthily - I try to avoid meat, overly processed foods, dairy, gluten and eggs. It's actually ok. I feel less muggy headed since I have started eating healthily and it has helped to shift the gaba weight that I've still been carrying 5 years on!

Food does influence how you feel.. it hasn't made my RSD better - but it has given me more energy, and it has reduced the number of infections I usually get (which is great ! I normally am stuck in bed from about Christmas till Easter and I haven't been so far!...)

I figure that anything is worth a try - it definetly helps with the stomach/ bowel issues.. and I have found that reducing sugar intake has helped as well - I'm getting less high and low blood sugar things (I don't know if anyone else has this with the RSD but I can't control my blood sugar very well..)

Good luck if you go for it ... I have lots of yummy recipies if you want them.

FRxxxxxxxxxx

It also gives you a list of essential supplements.

I pretty much eat that way.

I don't use sugar at all. I use sweetnlow or equivalent of it. I eat eggwhites or egg beaters and have oatmeal for breakfast a lot.

I drink 1% milk and I eat lots of apples and veggies such as broccoli, tomatoes and lettuce. Lots of salads.

As far as meats, if I eat any it will be the deli low fat turkey. I have never been much of a meat eater anyway. I have a hog to be killed in March that my kids got for me and I don't know yet what I will do with the meat. I will keep some bacon around for Devin. I have also eaten the turkey bacon. It's pretty good but again I stay away from most meats anyway.

I have about 15 lbs to lose that I am working on now. I've started taking my walks again.

My cholestral had come down the last time we checked. It was still too high at 250 but better then 320. I am going to ask him to check it again soon.

I just have trouble taking off the last of the lbs I want off. I have been at the same weight now for about 7 years after losing 75 lbs.

I do feel better when I don't eat the wrong foods. At times I will eat something I shouldn't. I do keep candy and cookies around for the boys but I get sugar free or low fat and they like it. Susan cooks good meals for them so when they come over I have a few treats for them.

When I'm in more pain I tend to eat wrong. I pace the house because of the pain and eat from a nervousness that comes with the pain.

Ada
