Hey everyone! Its been awhile since I've been on here. Busy with school and everything else. I just wanted to say how much I think about all of you on here. I found a little relief and I hope that you guys can too. I got my acceptance letter for the college I want to go to. I have the chance to play soccer in college because the soccer coach has a daughter with RSD/CRPS. He told me that when I'm in remission he cant even tell I have RSD. He said he is hoping that having me play on the team will encourage his daughter and other kids to hope. Hope is all we have sometimes and it can be a powerful thing in the right hands. Hands of children and adults who suffer everyday... So now I say HOPE for the best, and expect that change will happen eventually...

Snowboarder, Congrats on getting into the college you picked and it's great to here you may play soccer. You will have so much fun. Can i ask were you ever in remission before? and if so how long did it last. Were you off all meds? Best of luck! momof4

When I first got RSD I had lower lumber sympathetic blocks and the first one only lasted about a month. I could go in one day and get the block then walk out the same day without crutches. The next block lasted a little longer the next a little longer. Then I had to do physical therapy because I couldn't get the blocks anymore because the clinic dropped my insurance. So I did physical therapy and I was on my meds. The physical therapy took six months but it allowed me to go into remission. Then when I was in remission I was off all meds. I was in remission for about a year and a half then it came back and I did physical therapy again and it's been 5 months of remission since.

Wow, what a great story, so sorry you had RSD to begin with, but to have a positive outcome and get into the college of your choice is just awsome. My daughter who is 17 is also admitted into the college of her dreams since 8th grade. She finished Boston clinic in october 2010 was was going great. The pain traveled to her shoulder than she was sick for about 2 weeks, flu, and cough. Now she is in a really bad flare. We are praying that it won't last long and she will be able to get back to doing her Physical Therapy and on the road to recovery so she can go to College. Congrats again.

I hope she does get better soon! i just dont understand why people have to suffer in the first place! It makes me crazy thinking that people out there have it way worse than i do, i just wanna take their pain away forever! ahhhh!
