Default KEG compound gel

i went to my neroeologist for my RSD and he didn't say anything about the fact that its taking over my arm side and face. but he gave me some keg gel that you put on nerve trigger points. but it only seems to make my pain worse. am i doing something wrong? does anyone have any tips?
