Default Question on replacement med

Hi hoping someone has had experience with this I'm having a difficult time. My pain management doctor just gave me opana 10 mg to replace oxcodone 30 mg for breakthrough pain due to the supply problem in Florida. It is not working for me at all.I am in serous pain is it going to kick in? So far just migraine. No relief side effects heat flush fatigue lethargy but virtually no pain relief he said it was ok to take two every 6 hours I did but had to back off as I could not take the migraine . Does anyone have advice for me or a recommendation? I take opana er 40 2x pd and used to take 30 mg oxy 4-5 for break through thank you so much. cZ
Ps seriously considering pain pump

My daughters PM doctor flipped out one day about oxycodone...We also live in Florida. She has taken Opana, did not help her either. But, narcotics usually don't help with pain. Are you on anything else? My daughter is taking Dextromathorophan compounded. No longer taking narcotics. She also takes cymbalta, 90 mgs.

Thank you so much for your reply, yes I took cymbalta for two years or just shy of that and developed a terrible allergy to it .
I think u might have meant narcotics do not always help neuropathtic pain, which is true as they do help most types of other pain. In cases of extreme intractable pain such as mine thus far it is all the best have been able to offer me to keep me on this planet. I've been around the world trying to find a way to get off medicine all together, although originally I admit I thought I might also get cured. Having faced after 8 years that probably isn't going to happen this is currently my only option other than the pain pump. Which I am considering because I don't want to take oral meds. But my doctors do not think I can tolerate the surgery. I do take several other non pain scripts as well for spasms migraines lesions and other RSD problems. I hope your daughter is doing better. Thank you CZ
