Default The ketamine is working

My daugther just completed her first three day ketamine infusion and so far the results are good. The skin sensitivity is down at least 80% and the RSD pains are down at least 60%. What pain she is having comes and goes quickly. She is coming back to normal now. It took 3 days before she began to act like herself.
Now begins the water therapy exercise class to try and get even better results.
She had no bad hallucinations or side effects. The only thing is that she has had RSD for so long the brain does not understand what a normal pain or sensation is suppose to feel like. She is having to learn what normal touch should feel like. She does not understand what a normal shower should feel like. It was always so painful.
She made it through the ketamine, now we just have to pray for the pain to stay at bay. We will take however long it last....

Great news! I've heard water therapy is also very good at treating RSD. I hope she goes into a permanent remission as I'm sure everyone is!

Congratulations.

Yay! So glad to hear the ketamine is working! Water therapy is fantastic; of all the things I tried when I had RSD I think that probably had the most benefit. It's perfect for nerves that don't remember what "normal" feels like. I'm praying for remission for your daughter!!

You do not have RSD anymore? How did you get rid of it.

Yes I HAD it for about 1 1/2 years and I've been in remission for about 2 years. I just posted my response to byates question a bit ago under the thread "My daughter actually rollerbladed today" regarding the different types of treatment I tried.

SO happy to hear that your daughter is doing so well on the Ketamine! I know it must be a great relief and she really deserves all the happiness she can get after the horrific time she's had!

Thanks for your post - i've been really depressed lately and it brings hope to me (and others i'm sure) that things CAN indeed get better. I'm on oral Ketamine and get a little relief. My mum and I have wanted to try the Ketamine infusions but unfortunately they aren't available over here in the UK.

Anyway, soo happy for you both again! Please send my love to your daughter and tell her I wish her many pain free days!
