I used to have debilitating migraines when I was younger into my teenage years, until I tried cannabis at 16 (wasn't for that was just experimenting), and I would smoke about 1-2x a month ever since sometimes a couple times a week sometimes only the 1-2x a month. I've only had about a handful of migraines ever since, compared to having them at least twice a month from about age 8-16. And I only get them when I take weeks and weeks off of smoking. For me it works so well that I've had a migraine so bad that I could barely see and felt like a knife was being pushed through my eyeballs, and then took a couple hits off of a joint and within 15-20 minutes it was for the most part gone. I had been on imitrex, matlax (sp?) depakote, and some other drugs that did not provide anywhere near the same relief that cannabis has provided.

Now that I have RSD I can only smoke indica strains, and prefer eating it instead, as sativa strains make my head run and focus on the pain more. I'm glad I live in a decriminalized state (New York), but wish there was an easier way to obtain it and knowing exactly what strain it is. I am not a "pothead" but some cannabis here and there has improved the quality of my life when it comes to migraines. It is a travesty that this country (and much of the world for that matter) doesn't realize the value of this plant in all aspects.

I have seriously thought about it Dan. I used to smoke it when a teenager for fun, now I am really considering it for medicine. I live in NY also, not sure where you get these strains from, but I do not know much about any of it either. Even though I smoked it @ 16, I knew nothing about it except it was fun!! glad to hear it helps you!:winky:

Swim says that it's really not too hard to come by these days for anyone, especially in New York. And it being decriminalized cops really don't waste their time on it unless they're feeling bored in the suburbs and want to mess with some teenagers. Even though swim doesn't know your friends and your situation, if you really feel like it would help you then casually inquire. It is both a great recreational and medicinal drug, and an incredibly useful plant in general. Swim says good luck :winky:
