All the Pain Spec. at the Hospital for Special Surgery do ketamine, some more than others and they all have there own protocol. I am a patient there for the last 7yrs, had 3 - 5 day inpatient, they only do the inpatient. Mine was with Daniel I. Richman, MD. He is a incredable doctor and really nice man. He also helped me so much from start to finish, recommended the correct surgeon to fix my problem, worked methodically with this surgeon, really saw me through the darkest days of my life. And after all that I had a better than expected outcome. From what I here none of them will take a new RSD patient on as a steedy patient but they will provide the ketamine procedure, but then you have to have a regular Pain Mgt. Doctor. But you have to call each one to get the correct answers. There are 7 Full Time Pain Doctors now when I started there was only 4. For the boosters I saw Dr. Hertz who is also a nice man and good doctor from what I can tell, if I could get to Philly I would see Dr. Schwartzman, who is not on the list.

Thanks....that is the list that Jim sent me 2 days ago.

I started with Getson, but then Chopra started offering them in RI. WC Court ordered me to go to Chopra when my Ketamine was approved as a treatment for my RSD. So i finally no longer needed to travel so far from home to get my treatments. But Getson accepted me as a patient when my WC Comp case was still pending in the courts, on just my word that he would be paid. And he waited 150 days for his bill to be paid by WC without ever giving me a hard time. I loved him, as did all of the patients I met in his clinic in Marlton, NJ.

Chopra only treats me when the WC Court has actually approved treatments. When my authorizations run out, so does my ketamine....until my next court date. Chopra's not a bad guy, and he's a competent doctor. But the K -he's just in it for the money and our relationship is more like a business relationship instead of doctor/patient.

I highly recommend finding the most experienced, compassionate doctor and staff for anyone considering ketamine....good luck....Sandy

My doc in RI is Chopra. He and his partner do a really good job administering ketamine and I highly recommend them. Their staff is awesome, my nurse is absolutely the best. When I need an infusion, they will fit me in (like yesteday, when I was sick from overdoing things over the Easter weekend).

In an earlier post I vented about their WC policies. It does stink that in a week and a half I will not be able to get my infusions anymore, until the court approves more. And that could take weeks. But while they take care of me things are great.

Just wanted to put in a good word for a decent practice.

Dr Kaufmann at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hosp in south Florida is also now doing ketamine.
I heard this from a former patient of Dr Chopra. She loved him as well.

Default yup

hi everyone, yes I am here to bump this list again, hope no one feels like I'm kicking a dead horse but I really feel its important to keep this at easy access. I wish I could post more, things aren't going so good for me right now, but maybe I can get my ducks in a row soon and be of more use soon.

take care,
Dee
