For all those out there know what its like getting off meds. I am getting off my winter meds, and am having a hard time with my stomach being so upset and having flu-like symptoms... do you guys have any advice to help the feeling? Its been 3 days and I did it last year but dont ever remembering it being this bad...

Yes, definitely taper off slowly.
And, don't let other symptoms confuse you, such as allergies which are bad this year again. Treat those symptoms if you must with a nasal spray, or whatever works for you, and the same with your stomach. Tums, maalox, again whatever works for you!

Hope you feel better soon!

I am sorry you must have to go through this. There is not much worse than having that sick feeling from medication. I myself could not take neurontin because it made me sick, from day one...UGH. I could only suggest crackers and soup broth and hot tea, as if you really had the flu. I hope it passes quickly for you and you can put it behind you and move forward to a beautiful summer!

Thanks All....

What I found that did help was this natural stuff called oscilliococcinum. Even though I didnt have the flu, it totally helped with the sick feeling.

http://www.oscillo.com/ I drowned myself in water and lots bread, potatoes, rice, etc. Not many veggies because my stomach couldnt keep it down.

I hope this might be able to help someone!

Blessings on your day!

hannzh1234,

I hope you are feeling better today. It's the worst feeling in the world when your sick because you want to get off medications.

It took me so long to get off gabapentin (neurontin) the first time that I didn't even notice withdrawal symptoms. I just took 300 mg in the morning a long time then started trying to skip the dose.
