Default medications...Caramazepine vs Neurontin

Hey everyone...would like your advice and input.

i have been looking for new doctors to try to revamp my RSD world and get me to feeling better.
I went to see a Neurologist in April. I gave him my medicine list. and he obviously did not pay attention because on my list i had that i was taking Neurontin. he gave me a script for Caramazepine ....it does much of the same things that Neurotin (also known as Gabepentin) does.

have any of you taken both? did one work better than the other for you? did anyone take them together?

Here are the comparisons i found on the web...just thought i would ask your advice. maybe one is better than the other?

Carbamazepine (Usl Pharma) Neurontin
1 nausea nausea
2 pyrexia pain
3 convulsion fatigue
4 condition aggravated depression
5 headache headache
6 fall drug ineffective
7 drug interaction chest pain
8 vomiting fall
9 drug ineffective oedema peripheral
10 dizziness dyspnoea

Thank you
Lori

Lori,

I cannot comment on anything but Neurontin, which has been a godsend for me. Very few side effects.

But in my meds trials and tribulations, I have learned one thing is a certainty. The same thing they tell you in financial disclosures.....

"Your results may vary".

And they most certainly do. What works for one may work for another......or, it can be an absolute disaster for the next. Gotta try different things for CRPS. That includes meds AND therapies.

Good luck!
