Quit the Reglan. Was hospitalized & docs switched around all my nausea meds. They mentioned the gastric pacemaker, but I was unsure if I wanted to risk it or not. I have a good friend that is a GI nurse & she said any abdominal surgeries that are not immediately life threatening are a bad idea....too much scar tissue. She said their patients that have had surgeries are always in & out hospital w/ ongoing complications. Just scares me!!! Glad it has worked for some though!!

Hi,
I believe I have posted on this thread before. My 18 year old daughter had the pacemaker put in in April...I have to tell you that it was the BEST decision that we made for her Gastroparesis. She is thriving, eating what ever she wants and has gained weight. No Nausea or vomiting. Yes, I will tell you that the recovery process was hard...But the outcome has been so unbelievable. She has her life back. Yes the RSD caused her pain from the surgery but she would do it all over again tomorrow. If you have a facebook you can go to a page for gastroparesis and there are several people there with the pacemaker. Don't say no to it. Do your research it has worked for so many people. There are many that do the pacemaker laprascopic. If you need more information I can send you some. Sandy Quote:

Sorry I missed your appearance in this thread until now. I am so very, very happy that Lindsay is on the mend! A great and wonderful relief, putting it mildly. Mike (And please excuse me for not dropping you a note earlier, it's been one of those things I've meant to do every day for the last week, but was so apprehensive about my choice of words, to tell you the unvarnished truth.) |
AWWWW Thanks Mike,
She is doing great. I can't believe how much this has helped her. She still has her RSD days, but they started her on gabapentin and it is helping too. She is able to do so many things. My oldest daughter was married in May and Lindsay was able to walk down the Isle with her. She was so beautiful. She had a little girl from RI, that has RSD that she met on facebook, just came in for a few days and stayed with us. It is amazing how much we learn from other people. I hope you are doing well.
