Default Fevers?

Does anyone have issues with fevers with doctors not finding a reason for them?

I cant seem to get rid of fevers and I have seen doctor after doctor and they cant seem to find a reason as in an infection or anything. I did just get out of the hospital but its been 2 months now and my fevers go from 99.5 to 102.5 my white counts are high and they have been doing every other tests you can imagine but nothing comes back. The last doctor they had me see was an infectious disease specialist but he cant think of why. He told me just to monitor it at home and if it goes up to 103 or high then to come in immediatly but what to do about it is another question.

I know with my RSD I have all the temp issues, do you think that could cause it, you know since its full body and internal that maybe its just that but getting as high as 102.5 is getting a little high.

They are worring about the liver issue with the enzymes getting higher. They did eliminate the meds as being the reason and like the fever they cant figure out whats wrong but if it continues it getting higher or it stays the way it is without getting better I may need a new liver within a year which is scaring me so bad. My mom has already said if she is a match she will give me part of hers. My next issue they are still really worried about like the liver they think could cause fevers is my gallbladder my bioducts at my age should be a size 5 well mine are a 13 almost like stones are going through but I dont have any they are just growing and in a few months if the pain conintues it will come out. I just pray the fevers dont go up.

I think I am just falling a part.

I have never checked my temperature, but I have MAD heat flashes where my body just goes bazurk hot where I have to turn fans on and air conditioner on freezing for hours, literally sit in the freezer and am still burning up. Everyone around me will be dressed in layers with layers of blankets and are freezing as I am half naked burning up hot.... so I wonder if I am "fevering" as well?? This goes on for hours sometimes days, I sometimes get a few hours of relief and it comes right back. It happens mostly when I am really flared up. Do you notice it when you are in higher amounts of pain? even though it really seems like all the time... sigh.... hang in there!

The times I found out Iam in fevers are when Iam in flares and go to the er's and they check my temps. and they are 99.9 to 102.5
When I am at home I dont check as I dont have a thermometor but since getting back from the hospital the other day he told me to check ever hour or so, I just have to buy a thermometor still. I just am waiting for my mom to get home, she went to buy one.

My RSD I have temp changes so many times in the morning I am freezing and around 2pm is when I start burning up so I think thats when my fevers start going up.
The doctors checked for all kinds of infections, I will really watch it and if it goes up again past 102 I will go back to the ER like the infectious disease doctors said to do.
When my RSD went full body 4 years ago my fevers did that too for about 2 months it would go anywhere from 101 to 102.7, with it being RSD I just thought it was the temp changes you know how RSD does that. So maybe its like that again, just not sure I will just carefully watch again. This RSD just never wants to make it easy for us does it.

Pre rsd and pn dx I had a fever for 2 plus years every other month. I would be sick with a fever then it would go away and a month later come back. This was a cycle non stop for I would say more then a few years. I went to the doctor multiple times and the why behind that never was found. Odd thing though when I developed rsd 4 plus years ago I have only been sick with the flu one time. Now I have other major problems from ears, eyes, skin,I could go on plus the limb pains. I also pre all this had high liver enzymes and pancreatitis issues. I try to be careful now with over the counter meds etc.
I know one pain doctor I saw said that peope with rsd are more prone to infections etc.
Have you been to a rheumatologist? I would if not.
Hang in there and feel better

Sam -

I second the motion for you to be worked up by a good rheumatologist. We know that in the first couple of years there is inflammatory stage of RSD which could be associated with the expression of lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell, but your report on ongoing high fevers is atypical. (By any chance, has anyone suggested that you see a hematologist?)

One the whole, the range of symptoms you are reporting do not sound at all like the usual side-effects of CRPS/RSD, which are primarily associated with autonomic dysfunction. I don't know where in Pennsylvania you live, but if doctors around you are causally talking about a prospective need for a liver transplant, I would want a full work-up NOW - based on a referral from your physician - at the Cleveland Clinic. It's time to cover all the bases.
