I have RSD as well as gastroparesis. My doctor told me to start taking Reglan for nausea/vomitting. Has anyone else taken this med. If so, were there any problems such as tremors & did it help. I know many others with RSD have gastroparesis. Thanks!!

Dear Firegirl.... I take Reglan !!! I was recently diagnosed with gatroparesis... Iam amazed and so appreciative of this post as I need answers too on this exact new phase of our RSD.... This gastroparesis is not nice... The Reglan does help me some but it is no way the magic bullet...I have not noticed any side affects at this time but my GI Dr. Is not happy about this drug and has said he will take me off of it for a month... 3months after taking it... He also prescribed Clindex for my tummy also...same idea as the Reglan... My biggest concern is I can't eat without these meds now....

How many of us suffer with gastropharesis???? I inquired with Dr. S office just a few days ago and they said gastropharesis very common with internal RSD.... I didn't feel well before with external RSD but this internal, delibilating eating issue is really scary!!!! Tummy RSD.... is this going to get worse????

I have a question for all who suffer from gastropharesis.... has your Dr. Said the gastropharesis is directly related to your RSD ... And am I right in thinking it is the opening of our tummy in that the motion has slowed down and the nerves won't allow our food to pass thru???? How has this diagnosis been described to you all???

Hi All,

I posted a while back that my daughter was diagnosed with gastroparesis and recently had a gastric pacemaker put in. It has been over a month and she is no longer vomiting and there is no nausea. I highly recommend that you seek a referral to a doctor that will put in a pacemaker. It was a little difficult with the recovery because of the RSD but it was worth it. She has put on about 6 lbs and is eating more and more food as the days go on.

Iam so happy to read the Lindsay had such great results from the pacemaker surgery and now to manage her gastroparesis.... It is a bear and terrible to watch the pounds drop and worst yet to see our children be sick!!!!

So In correct term...is gastropharesis considered RSD of the stomach at least for us who suffer it who already have RSD??? Sorry to keep asking this but my Dr. Seems to say it but sketchy to me as his knowledge of RSD is limited...How is it presented to you???

i have abdominal RSD caused by gallbladder surgery and abdominal surgery i had.

i have had RSD for 6 years and gasteoparesis for at least 5 years. i was on Reglan for about 4.5 years. i started seeing commercials on tv about getting the disease in this ad. http://www.rxlist.com/reglan-drug.htm so when i realized that i had one of the symptoms, i stopped taking the medication and that was about a year ago and the symptom has gone away. it didnt work that great for me either. I take Fenergan for nausea problems and that works great. I also take over the counter Prilosec to help empty my stomach..that works well too.

BUT i cant eat after about 7:30 at night or i am in big trouble. i get horrible acd reflux late at night that has e gagging and puking and on top of this i am asthmatic. so when i get the acid reflux, and it gets in my lungs it aspirates in my lungs and i cant breathe. so be very careful about eating at night.

I was told that if you have any neurological disorders that Reglan can not be taken. That is why they didn't put my daughter on it.

Lindsay's pain management has said that she is seeing more and more gastroparesis in RSD patients. But I have not heard that it is RSD in the stomach. Scary though. But, the pacemaker is working.

So I started taking the Reglan & only made it a few days. Hadnt even given it time to work yet really, but had to stop. I started getting severe jolts & twitching so my doctor had me quit taking it.
