I have also started having stomach pain since my RSD has begun spreading. My Chinese herbologist said to drink as much Raspberry Leaf tea as possible. You can buy bulk raspberry leaf from any natural food store, it's naturally caffeine free also. I drink it like iced tea, making gallon jugs and sweetening with a natural. It makes a huge difference in the pains I get in my stomach and bowels. Good luck!!!

Kathy,
My stomach burns alot too, but I just try my hardest not to think about it and pray to God that one day it will go away. Since it started, I havent had a ketamine infusion, so I am curious to see if the ketamine will help my stomach.... I also have been getting hic-ups SO SO SO easily. Like- I will take a sip of water and i get them, and my stomach and throat burn more and more. I tried tums to see if it was heartburn but it didnt do anything and its a different kind of pain. Do you get hic-ups often? Hang in there Kathy, no fun. |

Kathy please try this....gag yourself...this may sound stupid and maybe its too late if you have gastropharisis...but I had the same problem where Id swallow and it would stick about half way down and wouldnt go any further or I would want to vomit every time I ate. Heres the deal...our meds are slowing down our prefrontal cortex that is responsible for our gag reflex, saliva production, (which responsible for our food moving down our throat), mucus production in our sinuses, and tear production..thats why we have dry eyes..am I right...You have dry eyes..please tell me if Im wrong...By gagging yourself about 5 times a day you will stimulate that prefrontal cortex to do something other than vegatate...You will also notice that you will produce mucus in your sinuses and tears in your eyes. And the biggy saliva in your mouth which helps with swallowing and digestion..I received this information from my very intelligent neuro chiropractor...Please try this...I know this has worked for me...I was ready for a full upper and lower GI before I started this and now I am swallowing food great...I hope this helps...Use a tooth brush one of those oral B's they work great.

This is exactly the problem I've been having for 6 weeks now. Initially I was hospitalized for it because the pain was so bad I lost 10 lbs in 2 days and was severly dehydrated. I couldn't even keep my meds down. The last time I had this was about 6 months ago when I started Topomax. The GI doctor said to try cutting that out and prescribed 30mg of Prevacid a day. I've been taking it since, he recommends it to anyone taking anti-inflammatories daily. This latest incident happened after I got home fro my honeymoon. Initially we figured I picked up a bug from the islands but all the hospital tests and tests done again last week ruled it out. The pain is a constant burning, cramping pain and I do get hiccups everyday, it was so odd that you mentioned that. The pain initially 6 weeks ago was so bad it was making me sick, hence the dehydration to the point my kidneys almost shut down. It's now at the point where the pain is constantly there but a bit more manageable. I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy on the 16th. I hate to tell you this Hannah but if it is the same thing, Ketamine doesn't get rid of it. I had my 300 mg booster x2 days right after I got out of the hospital and it didn't touch the stomach pain, no change at all. |

Have you had an infusion since he diagnosed you with internal? I had messaged Barby Ingle about this earlier today as I was starting to wonder if mine could be spreading internally and one thing I'd like you to keep in mind is she had been having internalmproblems for awhile until she had her inpatient treatment. That was what stopped it and she was actually still able to go into remission and told me she hasn't had any stomach problems since so please try not to worry too much. You know you're in the best hands in the country. ![]() Dawn |
