I saw this show the other night, and was intrigued by the parallels of the main character and myself. On the show he had some damage done to his leg that withheld the bloodflow for 4 hours that put him in chronic pain for the rest of his life.
For me it was 7 days of no bloodflow but with the same result, chronic pain and muscle infarction. Here is the link to the show's page, and on it there are links to the info they used to create the show's episode. I found it very interesting and decided to share it wih everyone here. http://www.housemd-guide.com/season2/224realornot.php Check out the links on that page as they have ketamine info there ![]() Allen |

Hi Allen how are ya..
About the show.. I have written to the folks at fox's "House" to please tell us if house has CRPS (type 2?) and I have searched house forums for answers and left posts about RSD.. lol got a little fanatical as usual when I start to research things and educate.. He was treated with Ketamine (a 5 day coma) and that put him into remission from his "pain" on the last season finallie.. No cane an even skateboarding.. a few shows into the new season were still somewhat halucinagenic but still no limp till further on in this season, then the pain started coming back and he started limping and using his cane again, and recently he has had pain in his rt shoulder as well. I noticed right away that he used his cane in the wrong hand and that aparently had caused nasty pain in the back last winter an spring, for the ACTOR who plays House and his doctor advised him to stop the limping action for a while. I walked like that at first too.. it was hard to change the cane over to the proper side for ergonomics but what a difference since, in my back and hips and even my neck was affected nasty by using the cane on the same side as the injury. In the show they try and get him to use the cane the right way too, but he is House and does as he wants.. I enjoy the show and watch for mention of CRPS an RSD and chech back into the forums lots.. All the similarities are there big as day.. why dont they just diagnose it. frustrating.. I saw right away the similarities between you Allen and his storyline, I wish they'd do some research and have a 1/2 season or so dedicated to house coming to terms with a diagnosis of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and all it's complexitys.. I can dream.. Anywhoo.. sory to ramble.. an take care bud.. keep watching and write to them.. Diagnose house! And tell them your story Allen.. Soft hugs bud, Sandra |
