Default Medication recommendations ??

Hi all! Can anyone recommend a medication for my pain? I have RSD in my face, both hands, left arm, both shoulders, left leg, both feet, abdomen and head. I am way beyond SGB and nerve blocks. My spinal cord stimulators (both) do not help enough...don't reach all the areas and can't turn it up much. I have done PT and that only made things worse. I have MANY allergies, can't take anything in capsule form. I have already tried: duladid, morphine, demerol, percocet, neurontin, savella, celexa, talwyn, baclofen, methadone, fentanyl patches, tegretol, tramadol, I know there is more that I can't think of at the moment. Dr put me on Nucynta last week and I am having problems with it too.

I am not interested in hearing about ketamine infusions or tDCS, have already researched these.

I am frustrated and at a loss here, appreciate your advice and time.

Hi Nanc

I'm afraid I can't recommend any medication but I just wanted to say I'm sorry you are in so much pain. I hope you find something that helps.

I am so sorry you are in this position. I cant offer you much or any advice. Im reletivly new to all this.

Afew things pop into my mind such as mirror box thereapy. The idea is to retrain your brain. If you look at the noi website there are instructions and videos. It helped me a little but im not doing it often enough. Otherwise hydrotherapy has been wonderful for me and also hyperbaric therapy has alsobeen recomended. I knowthese are not drugs, but perhaps there are things to help relieve things a bit.

I hope this dosnt make you want to throw things a me. lol. they are just suggestions that are in a different line to what you are asking. I also have issues with medications, foos and alergies.

I really hope there is something out there for you. I really do feel your pain. Hugs!

I can't think of too much other than what you have mentioned.

Have you tried a lidocaine cream (can't remember if you have one or not)? It doesn't help me a lot but when things are pretty bad it can help take the edge off in areas like my hands where it's hard to put a patch. And I think we all understand that sometimes even a little relief can make the difference between something being tolerable or not.

Someone also mentioned in another thread about acupuncture. I haven't done it myself and sort of dismissed it because most of what I heard was that the relief was very short lived and not worth it...but a couple of people posted different experiences so it might be worth a shot if you don't have other options that you are able to try.

I'm very sorry things are so difficult for you right now. I hope they turn around for you soon. Take care.

Hi catra! Thanks for the suggestions. I have not specifically tried lidocaine cream, but have tried compounded creams that contained it and some that didn't. I have also tried lidoderm patches and they do nothing for me...it's like wearing a bandaid

I have not tried acupuncture because I heard the same things you did. I also understand that a needle stick can cause the RSD to spread and well, there are a lot of needles there. I know they are tiny, but they are still needles and I already have venipuncture RSD in my left arm.

I am so frustrated now! Last night was another sleepless night, the second one this week. I am so tired...and so tired of this pain!

Thanks again

Hi,

I haven't posted in a long time but reasoned would start researching
herbs. Perhaps some which might assist with inflammation. For example
I came across something. I think it would be classified as
an herb but folks take it in the form of a tea. Its called Pau D'Arco.
It is said to give the body greater vitality by strengthening its organic
defenses. It is said to increase resistance to diseases and creates a feeling
of well being. It also seems to help in the elimination of pain. I don't
know how effective it would be. I am just reading some information on
it. Many use this tea taken from the inner bark of the tall tree called
Lapacho as a cancer preventative or to assist in eliminating existing
cancers.
