hi all.just a quick note.i have had rsd since 2006 it has been very hard to work and even just walk.mine is a w/c and i am only working 2 hours per day,and even that is soooo hard.i have always loved to work and because i cant i am having realy hard time because it makes me feel worthless.i sent the paper work in to ssdi because i am trying to support my faimly , and it makes me feel like crap that i cant give them what they need.90 days latter ssdi approved me on the first try,so it can be done.i am telling all of you this because i want all of you who have rsd to not give up,it will all be ok.

Hi Jeff,
I know the feeling like crap all too well. I lost everything work wise and after all my life being athletically in shape and always a hard worker I'm down to doctor visits, PT and sitting in a wheelchair. Looking at things upbeat can be tiresome at times but like the frog said to the alligator, never give up...

Welcome to the "RSD'rs who got SSDI on the first try on their own" club. It is so tough to loose the ability to work. Please try to stay focused on your family and children who very much need you.
You mentioned in a prior post that you had a SCS. If it is no longer providing you with significant relief can you try other options such as Ketamine infusions. Have you exhausted non-invasive treatments? Have you tried physical therapy? Have you experienced spread or is it still limited to one limb. Do you have confidence in your treatment team? There is a good safety net for you here! There is always something new to try! Take Care! Better day are ahead for you!!!!!!!!!!! |

Yes it is emotionally draining to give up work ESP. When u don't mind it. It feels like that independence is lost. I struggled with it, cried over it and still vet emotional thinking about it. But 2 months after I was told I could not come back on a rollabout I gave in and applied for ssdi. I was approved 4 months later. Congratulations jeff.
